The reason the symbol wasn’t canonically defined was probably GameFreak realizing how much of a headache it would be to update every generation

Uxie's relation to Ho-oh could be about the Prometheus myth of fire being represented of knowledge that is bestowed to man by the Gods. The same concept can be applied to Lugia as a psychic type and it being an arbiter of willpower.

Giratina wasnt included because it was originally an unrelated chimera legendary.
That's why in all the lore files it isnt mentioned at all

Wait it's called the teraleak because of it being a terabyte and not because of it being a funny scarlet and violet name?

Another theory I heard for the tyranitar, Gyarados, Dragonite trio is that it represents normal pokemon of the land, sea and sky.

The thing I'm not a fan of. The leak legit doxed ~2600 employees' emails. Not cool.

Gyarados making the cut for the "pseudos" could be based on how it is the "fish that became sea dragon" like the old legend. but also, I can imagine Gyardos celebrating like it got chosen #1 in the NFL Draft or something.

When you cover the Folktales that got released, like the Typhlosion, Slakoth, or Ursaring myths, I really hope you make it a point to anyone watching how utterly normal those stories are in the context of them _being_ folktales set in the Pokémon universe. It's exhausting how many fans are shocked and appalled over the myths reading like actual myths.
What we got in Gen IV was "Little Timmy's Greek Myth Picture Book for Kids" while the leaks gave us the actual Greek Myths.

Another theory for Azelf to be associated with Lugia and it's trio have no control or will over their power. Their sheer presence is their power as Moltres brings heatwave and spring, Articuno brings cold and winter and Zapdos is born of their meetings, while Lugia, just like the Moon, shifts the position of the seas and oceans by its relative position to them

8:52 "The only weird thing here, though, is Gyarados."

Imagine my confusion when I originally saw "KABIGON." That is, Snorlax.

Wait, is this why they added so many new legendaries in Gen 4? To fill out that circle? Damn.

Also, I find it interesting that they went with Gyarados since originally Arcanine was intended to be a legendary alongside the three birds.

Perhaps Gyarados being an important Pokemon somewhere in the lore is why it was chosen to be the first canon shiny you're shown in game? Maybe?

Additional context:
Dragonite, Tyranitar, and Gyarados are said to be the gods that sustain the sky, and are created by Rayquaza's actions;
Latios, Latias, and Metagross sustain the ocean, created by Kyogre;
And the three mystery Pokémon sustain the earth, created by Groudon.

Also, I would speculate that Giratina wasn't a thing at this point in development. We know from the Gen 4 beta a while back that Giratina's design was finalized fairly late into development, and he's kinda just thrown into the post-game of Diamond and Pearl with very little lore until Platinum released.
Maybe this is why he's not in the OG document

Something important to note with the leaks for those roaming in them:

1. Be wary that there are mistranslations afoot and misinformation.

2. Obviously this also isn't FULLY a massive Bible. Big chances are most of this stuff now is no longer canon due to obvious or unknown reasons. Yes this was written specifically due to the fanbase now turning into immature brats over the scrapped entries for Typhlosion, which was scrapped for a reason and chances were 1. A Game Freak employee fooling around like some indie studios and Nintendo do during development, and 2. Guess they never cracked open a dang book on mythologies and old religions.

Interestingly, there are various versions of a myth origin story, and in each one how the weather trio and lake trio are created is different, although there are similarities. Yet giratina is completely absent, implying it was added later on.

And later lore documents show that Dragonite is associated with Rayquaza, Gyrados is associated with Kyogre, and Tyranatar is associated with Groudon.

It's also very likely that the intent behind some of the middle and outer circle may have changed in development or even in later games. The only version of the circle we've ever seen in game is an updated version of the leaked symbol after all.

7:06 I'm pretty sure the official term is 'powerhouse pokemon, ' but pseudo legendary is so much cooler and way more iconic
