I really love the format of this video! Thank you for sharing so much with us. Those Optimo brushes were blowing my mind. :o So sweet to see Jazz again, too! She’s such a cutie. <3

Tube wringers are pretty amazing and I would say mandatory for anyone buying pricey tube paints.
The ribbon of gold leaf!! Oh man, how to use it and not just stare at it FOREVER. It's gorgeous.
adasdghl that brush swoosh and swatches ♥♥♥

Wow great haul, that gold leaf looks interesting and so affordable! I think the idea of "Dan's Blue" sounds fun!

I would love to see first time gilding video! I tried gilding just recently and it was hard. And every tutorial I watched made it looks so easy. And it was super nice to see some footage of jazz. Hamsters are so hard to film. I had one, that tried to chew camera, stuck his face on lens or tried to climb over the camera :D

Where did you get the format for your color cards ? I’d appreciate your input .

Wow .. those color card sheets... you must spend some time doing those! Wow.... hopefully you make some $$$ from your artwork to pay for those supplies and the time to create the cards?

Hi thanks for sharing. Very interesting haul. An alternative idea to filling paint tubes is to use big syringes (50ml or 100ml) and cover the tips. You can use a palette knife to fill them. You can re-use them after you are done and they alow you to pour paint in the pan with some precision.

Oto! You fickle creature, first you declare your love for mr. D Smith and now it’s Herr Kremer! I enjoyed this very much, as usual. I’m curious how your burnishing will get along, I’ve tried it too but find that burnishing gold foil doesn’t work at all for me, only pure gold works. As for that tube squeezer thing, I still get the idea that a lot of paint gets left behind, so what I do is cut open the end, open and fill it with water and swish it out and empty with a brush. Not a drop goes lost. Looking forward to seeing your next video. And Jazzy is indeed flourishing, you sure she’s a she? XFrouke

have you considered trying a gansai paint? you could probably get the kuretake one (or any other brand really) pretty cheap in japan, and id be curious to see how you'd like that kind of texture/formula? it is a bit more opaque so you may not like it as much but they can be very vibrant as well.

Excellent idea to have those squares of quality paper easily accessible! Thanks for sharing!

I was frustrated with paint drying to rapidly and could not find the retarding agent I had somewhere. I improvised with a mixture of water and dissolved gelatin. I found that by wetting the paper with this mix then continuing on as per normal I had more time before the paint stopped moving. Useful for clean washes. Not sure how it might impact the longevity of a piece though.

Escoda Perla holds à lot less water, but they have lots of snap/spring and are very acurate and keep a point brilliantly.

I think Dan's blue is good, hahahah. Just because whenever people talk about handmade ultramarine paints, it's usually the infamous penholder's one.
So excited for the Holbein mixes!

I have crimper and love it. It’s addictive though. When I ran out of paints to crimp, I started in on toothpaste, lotions, and condiments! 😂

Try the Escoda Versatil.... They are fantastic.

Jazz is so freaking cute! I can't wait to see what this gilding is all about. Not familiar with it at all.
