Hello Prof. Osborne, thanks for the lectures! Could you please give me the reference to the paper you mention at 49:53 in the lecture?

What is the precise definition of a thermal quantum state?

great lecture series. I'm loving it! However, in this one, something the professor said threw me off a bit. That is, at 1:17 he says that as the quantum wave function evolves over time the pure states will increasingly “get entangled, get correlated” with the environment. Was that a mistake? I thought that as the quantum wave function evolves over time certain of the pure states will increasingly get correlated with the environment which destroys entanglement of those pure states thus leading to increasing decoherence of the pure state. So, seems impossible for the pure quantum system to get both more entangled and correlated with the environment? Or, am I missing something? Please clarify. TIA!
