I misread a couple panels and said musashi used a sword at 2:22 but they were his hands (Sorry for the misunderstanding im new to baki as this is my first time reading the manga so i got a couple facts wrong my b)

Pickle really hit the jets. He ain't about that "I'm fighting till I die" bullshit. He's got survival instinct. I like Pickle for that

Musashi was so strong, he was able to cut through retsu's plot armor.

Did anyone else notice when Mushashi was getting choked out, he actually sliced Motobe so deep and with using very little momentum with only using the *back* of his blade. Mushashi is a monster.

Think about it, out of all the characters, it's only Yujiro and Musashi that got strong the same way, which was fighting in war and killing large amounts of people, accept just as yujiro said Musashi isnt pure, he doesn't fight for the same reasons everyone else does which is to actually fight and become strong., Musashi was really the only character that was fighting purely for fame and glory

I like how Musashi is basically a Glass Cannon compared to the rest of the top tier fighters in the verse. Like, sure, it’s not like he takes one hit and he crumples, but he does have this theme of taking attacks to “know more”, and EVERY TIME it does a considerable amount of damage. Compare that to Baki, or Jack, or Yujiro, or Hanayama. They take TERRIBLE Abuse, and they keep fighting like nothing ever happened.

Musashi basically uses his speed and skill to punch above his weight class. I mean, sure, he blocks, but blocking at this high a level of fighting is more technique then strength.

The outlier in this is his fight with Pickle, where he strength-tests a non transformed pickle. Sure, that is, compared to our top teirs, not the BEST feat, but I like to think of it as his strength cap.

So he has Base Form Pickle Strength, Technique that Rivals, perhaps surpasses every other fighter in the verse, and Speed that makes Yujiro bust out the Demon Back before actually taking any big hits, because he knows Musashi deserves it.

His only weakness is his lacking durability and his mindset; it’s a mindset based on learning. That means, every time he survives and attack or an opponent, he gets stronger. However, that also means he has to physically analyze an opponents abilities, which takes time. That time can be cut down through physically feeling out the attacks… however, his middling durability makes that a problem.

Unless you are a Hanma, a fight with Musashi has to be quick, and you have to keep switching up tactics, giving him more to chew on as you do as many big hits as possible. It’s why Hanayama couldn’t win. His physical power could destroy Musashi, but Musashi only had to take a few hits to fully understand Hanayama. Sure, Hanayama still put up a fight, but once Musashi knew everything about him, the fight was his.

It makes him a counter for… basically 9/10th’s of the verse. And it’s why I think he had to have his fight with Baki end to fast and stupidly. Because if that fight kept going, Musashi would just keep getting stronger. And while Baki certainly had a lot more tricks, every time he used one, it basically became close to useless against Musashi the next time.

The only way to use the same move more then once on Musashi and for it to work is to eclipse him in both power and speed. Which is why Yujiro pulled out the Demon Back without a long fight, he knew he wouldn’t be fast enough in base for the fight to be fun.

I love the amount of respect Baki as a series gives to real fighters, to real warriors. Sure sometimes the Hanmas can overshadow them and it’s not exactly realistic but I love the reverence given to people like Muhammad Ali and obviously Musashi Miyamoto. Good stuff.

Lets be real here, getting kicked in the balls by Yujiro using Demon Back and surviving, much less being able to fight afterwards, automatically means you're in the top 5 strongest people in the Bakiverse and are a god

Musashi by far my favorite character. He's a wild card.

Honestly I don't think Yujiro would have been killed by miyamoto musashi that quick my quests is that Yujiro wouldve been seriously injured. You can compare it to the pickle fight and imagine what He would've done to Yujiro if motobe didn't intervene. Probably would've seen the half scar on Yujiro as well lol

Y'all gotta remember Miyamoto is from the warring states era Yujiro getting distracted by Motobe shows how Miyamoto would've killed Yujiro he doesn't share the same warrior code as martial artist his code is kill or be killed

I once wrote a essay in Musashi in high-school. As deadly as a samurai he was he was a man of honor who became a pacifist in later life.

I don't think keisuke itakagi would want to show a legendary famous warrior from his country lose to his anime.
