For decades now, it seems like Gatorade has reigned king supreme over the sports drink world... that is until Logan Paul and KSI launched Prime. The brand and the marketing duo behind it make big promises, and an even bigger splash so we thought it was about time we took a look at what’s really going on.

I’m so glad you covered the electrolyte profile! I was waiting the whole video for it. For anyone else that is interested MatPat had a great video on Food Theory that covered a similar topic (:

Dang you had the perfect opportunity to include the electrolyte clips from Idiocracy.

One thing i will say is that i can believe that the supply shit was like a matter of the demand grew faster than they anticipated and weren't really ready to scale production. However on the flip side as someone who lives in the uk, anecodotally the prime in the supermarket i worked was significantly discounted before being put on clearance for less than half of the price, and it still took ages to sell. I don't think we sell the stuff anymore

Lol 90% of sales of anything is marketing. It's wild.

I'm a Nutrition and Dietetics student here in Australia. We recently looked at the nutrient content of Prime. It's currently not available in Australia as Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) have declared it illegal to be sold. We found that Prime has very very high levels of Vitamin A, so high that it's above the Upper Limit of vit A (borderline toxic). One can of Prime gives you at least 2 times the recommended vit A amount per day. Chronic consumption of this drink can result to liver complications in the long run. It also has twice the amount of caffeine as existing energy drinks such as Red Bull. It's very concerning that KSI and Logan Paul predomenantly have a very young audience and they are consuming it.

I’m a personal trainer and believe me, I actively dissuade my clients from drinking those 💩. Good old H2O is plenty sufficient for 99.9999% of gym-goers.

To me, Prime screams more like a drink for gamers than a drink for athletes

Anything Logan Paul shills is a big no for me. I’ll stick to just plain ol’ water.

As a runner who does 5ks 10ks and half marathons my go to drink is always water. If I'm feeling it I'll make my own home made "sports drink" which is just lemon or orange juice with some honey and some salt in it, this I usually make only during the summer time. I stopped drinking sports drinks years ago when I noticed that after my runs they would just make me feel sluggish and gave me this feeling that I had ran more than what I thought. It was mostly due to all the sugar in it that was making my body crash. And everything said in the video is true, most if not all of us don't need sports drinks in our diet if we are already eating a healthy diet. I get the appeal of stuff like Prime especially for younger generations who are always on social media and see it on their screens but it doesn't take too long to go over the labels and really check to see what you are putting in your body and that's what I try to teach my younger family members, that not everything presented to you is always true. Stay hydrated y'all and enjoy you summer.

Never tried Prime, or stuff like G Fuel for that matter. They just seem like a cash grab influencer pushed sugar water. I don't drink sports drinks too often but when I do it's powdered Gatorade I keep in the cabinet I mix myself in a blender bottle to cut down on single use plastic. If Prime offered it in powder I'd be more inclined to try. Death to single use plastic bottles.

I remember a doctor telling me, take one liter of tap water, put inside a teaspoon of sugar, half a coffeespoon of salt and the juice of half a lemon and you will have a perfect sportsdrink, if you think you really need one.

I think it was absolutely brilliant for the real Prime creators to market in a way to make the public believe Logish and CSI actually came together and "invented" Prime and concocted the serum. Completely different than the typical Pepsi to Michael Jackson and Britney Spears, or Nike to M. Jordan, or Frosted Flakes to Tony the Tiger.

As someone who follows the beauty channels, every one has their own line of makeup or brushes. Those who don't Yet have them will say how "Obsessed" they are over a product they will later become a sponsor for 😂

What’s funny, is the people that are drinking these “sports drinks” are usually a bunch of video gamers sitting on their asses all day and night in front of a computer

Came across a vending machine here in Singapore selling Prime, and I was genuinely shocked as to how our country not only allowed this piss to be sold here, but that somehow it got a B rating on our country's beverage health rating (which goes from A to D).

Given our usually-strict standards for food health and safety this piss shouldn't even have made the cut in the first place, and yet somehow I can't get a drop of Baja Blast anywhere here 👀.
