Tofu is an essential part of the Japanese diet - they eat it daily yet they are one of the longest living people. Which makes me wonder if it’s tofu that is the problem or it’s what it’s made of and how it is made

As if not all our pork, beef, and chicken isn’t stuffed with hormones

Soy doesn't contain estrogen, it contains phytoestrogen, the conpound that looks like estrogen that has the opposite effect. The real estrogen is in dairy, eggs and chicken.

There is, however, fermented tofu; it can potentially improve digestion, reduce inflammation, and enhance nutrient absorption.

Very cold silken tofu, cut into small cubes, topped with spring onions, picked up delicately with Japanese chopsticks and dipped into a light soya sauce with grated ginger is my version of heaven

Soybean contains phytoestrogens. A great relief to menopausal symptoms. Yes it's loaded with calories. But so are many animal proteins. You eat then, you take a walk to aid digestion and metabolism. Soy is superfood in menopause.

“Cooking, especially with wet high-heat methods like boiling or stewing, or soaking in water for several hours, can inactivate most lectins. [6] Lectins are water-soluble and typically found on the outer surface of a food, so exposure to water removes them. An example is dried beans.”

FYI...I worked in radiology and It's important if you eat Soy if you are a vegetarian or a vegan you must tell the technician that when you get your mammogram. Why because it shows up just like breast cancer. And many women were put through lots of test and biopsies unnecessarily because Of this fact.

This comment is clearly intended for the people of North America and clearly is not about the non GMO soybean products .

I love and am mostly a grass fed and finished red meat eater, as I am iron deficient and can’t enough iron from plant based foods. Most days I eat meat but one day a week, I will switch it up with either chicken thighs, fish, shrimp, lamb or tofu once in a while. I don’t see the harm. It’s actually supposed to be really good plant based option with moderate amounts of protein. I think maybe if you are soy sensitive or have hormonal imbalances and deficiencies, then it might be wise to steer clear of tofu.

Well, I eat organic tofu 2-3 times a week along with other animal proteins such as fish and chicken. I’m pretty healthy.

Thinking of how the tofu is produced. In America our “healthy” foods are not healthy. Our wheat is low grade compared to Europe, our soy is messed with other chemicals. Dr G is right

If all people follow you, there would be nothing left for eating except leafy greens.
