you are savior to the modern DIY VW owner. Thank you for all of your videos! many of us would be at a huge loss if we didn't have the insight you've dedicated yourself to learning and researching about these complex vehicles.

What ever happened to VW being relatively simple, not so complicated and being an application where most people/shade tree mechanies and DIYers could do themselves?
My 09 CC, is basically an audi at this point, with the level of sophistication they bumped VW up to the premium level of Audi, . Now everything on this car takes a speclalized tech to do, who happen to work on audi.

my 2012 golf jerks and makes a clumping noise when coming to a stop.. took it to the dealers and was fixed with a SW update initially. the problem issue is happening again after 4yrs, this time the dealer say it requires a throttle body cleaning and vacuum pump replacement.

Fantastic video! My beetle just threw up a p0411 code and it's the throttle body. The mechanic cleaned it and said it was still playing up and not working as it should so I've bought a replacement... I was interested in how it works and how you put it in.... This was extremely interesting

Great video, might want to warn first timers like me that the cooling system runs though the Throttle body and you will need a ear plug when disconnecting. Saw your ear plug trick after the fact. 😅

Thanks, great explanations! Gotta love that VCDS. On a recent 2005 1.6 Golf I worked on, I got "17953 - Throttle Valve Controller
P1545 - 35-10 - Malfunction - Intermittent"
Any suggestions appreciated, though it's only intermittent so not too concerned unless it comes back with CEL etc.
VW on, man!

Ours gets the EPC light randomly and doesn’t take off as fast as it used to. Replaced the pedal to see if it’ll fix the problem

i had to install a new throttle body on my 2010 cc, it calibrated itself out after a few days of city driving and i didn't have to reprogram it for some reason.

Thanks for the video. In the cable trottle body, whats the function of the vacuum lines. Does it assist for idle speed control and cruise control?

I occasionally have the problem that the car does not react to the accelerator pedal, not bad response, not at all! It rarely happens, but it's very dangerous the other day off the freeway for a few seconds. No EPC / accelerator pedal error code stored. The throttle valve was cleaned, the ground points to the control unit were cleaned, but it still happens every few days. He recently had a P0130 O2 sensor code, but after replacing the ignition coil / cables / spark plugs everything was ok. I still replace the O2 sensor in front of the catalytic converter, because there is supposed to be a connection with the accelerator pedal sensor. I also noticed that the primary air pump no longer starts when the engine is cold. 1.6 Beetle (Motor Code BFS) I don't have VCDS, just a small OBD scanner that shows fuel trim, temperature, TO position etc.

Hey Charles great video as always, when you have an intermittent problem with codes P0221 and P0121 and the problem does not occur and codes are not showing when you're testing with your VCDS, should readings be normal as you're showing on your video here or you would see abnormal readings? Thanks

VAG-COM while a great tool, its like a computer running DOS. You reference value block 62, is there a legend somewhere that tells us what value blocks are for what sensors or actuators? How can I find what block to look at for a particular sensor or actuator? This is my biggest issue with VAG-COM!

please i need help or medication or both :D what if my 2 throttle sensors are the same value, and my pedal are also the same value? does that mean its faulty?
