More needs to be done to build more parking spaces for truckers. Its crucial for our drivers to get adequate access to safe havens. I salute all the truckers 🙏🚛🇺🇸

Not only do we as truckers have a problem parking on the road, we also have problems parking when we go home for home time

I 100% agree more truck parking is needed. I had to park last night 30 mins before my 14 hr clock expired on the side of the on ramp of 85 just outside Atlanta Georgia. I checked a rest area and a loves before having to settle on the side of the road. I've been in transportation for 17+ years the past 3 months behind a semi-trailer. I've had to park on the side of the road numerous times. But it's not safe but it's all of could do. Some states are better about rest areas, truck parking only and service centers. Other states there nothing for hundreds of miles. Loves, TA, Flying J and Petro can only do so much. States and congress need to clear land on every Interstate N, S, E, W and put 100 parking spots for truckers every 50-100 miles in my opinion.

I drove by night almost exclusively by preference, so I never had any problem finding proper stops to park. However, most drivers drive during the day, so the infrastructure should be in place for everyone, regardless what time of day they work.

These people help get our stuff from A to B. They just want a safe spot to sleep and we need this passed. Thank you to the truckers.

Finally someone says something real about our tough job.
They should also talk about how cops are always trying to take our money giving us tickets of all kinds

I feel sorry for the drivers that have to sleep in the breakdown lanes, there is no way their getting a good night's sleep with traffic shaking the truck, the road noise and the idiot that activates his loud engine brake while getting as close to your truck as possible. I've had to do that in the past and believe me, it will wreck your nerves and ruin your sleep.

Most rest areas in California have been closed and all the wide spots we used to have are being removed or blocked off. Cities have passed laws that make it illegal for commercial vehicles to park on city streets. Any parking we do have available is being taken over by the homeless with there campers and broken motor homes. The few wide spots left have signs say emergency parking only and if you park there it's a $300.00 ticket and a point and a half on your license for failure to obey a traffic control device. A bunch of B.S.

Think about it, the owners of these truck stops are perhaps lobbying to keep truck rest stops from being accessible, so drivers are forced to park with them. Has anyone noticed that TAs, Pilots, and Flying Js have more reserved spots than ever before. Charging up to $20.00 per night. Most Walmarts aren't allowing overnight at their premises. Kinda forces you to either pay up or park illegally in some instances. The authorities are more than happy to serve citations, that's why they will not do anything about it because it is easy revenue. They know truckers will have to pay up, as it is their bread and butter.

Our local Hardee’s was the only place left in our town to park semi’s. Now it is blocked off with no parking or you will be towed. The government and public treat truckers like second class citizens. The driver shortage is real and I don’t blame people for staying away from the industry.

Most regulated job in America! I was a cop for almost 20 years and I could double out everyday carrying a gun! Doctors and nurses can work up to 72 hours straight and operate on someone yet I can't drive more than 11 hours and have to sleep for 10 hours! I don't know anyone that sleeps for 10 hours other than my teenage kids. The reason there's no parking in other spots for truckers is because truckers themselves are leaving trash everywhere they park. I see it everywhere I go. We need to do a better job of picking up our mess!

Build rest areas specifically for truck drivers. Also mandate that companies pay by the hour.Base pay for truckers should be at least $100, 000 a year.

When I used to drive trucks this one of the problems I had...so I had to try to plan around it by either taking my 10 break in the early afternoon or early am morning. Truck stops and rest areas fill up quick when the sunsets and it doesn't matter what state you're in. I've always felt there should be some Government intervention to make sure truck drivers have a place to park and sleep safely without getting ran into on the side of the road, getting a ticket or a wheel lock on their truck for parking in a parking lot, or getting robbed while parked in an unknown unsafe area they're in.

I realized quick that truck driving is one of the most hazardous, dangerous, and stressful jobs in America.

Here in Seattle, Rest Stops are occupied by the unemployed homeless living in RVs, No truck parking for hard working men and women.

One Christmas Day at my grandmother's house the phone rang. It was from my uncle's dispatcher requesting him to take a load from North Carolina to the Canadian border. He could not refuse the load. We had to open presents quickly. My grandmother packed him a meal or he ate quickly I don't remember. But he left and left a sadness of my family that we had to spend the day without him. I miss you uncle Bud. RIP.

I’ve been driving from age 20 I’m 25 now and one thing I can say it’s driving is not an easy thing and not something everyone can do or tolerate for long. hats off to these older vets on the road who keep America running. Safe travels to all my fellow brothers on the road.

I drove years ago and it was a problem I can’t imagine how bad it is now. With electronic logs it makes it worse, make it a law that you can extend your drive time to find a parking spot at the very least. I use to plan my trip and push myself sometimes just so I could park, I’m glad I quit.

To add to that bill, make it a violation for other drivers cutting semi’s off. A lot of people fail to understand that semi’s are road trains and at times doesn’t stop as we apply the breaks.
