Could I be Sent into Combat in the National Guard?

My cousin was the first CT National Guard in Iraq to die in combat, and 2nd CT soldier to die in Iraq. He liked being in the military, and wanted to run in the 2024 Presidential Election. He died when his vehicle was hit by gunfire and a roadside bomb. He was a kind guy, chill, and loved life. He was in the 102nd Infantry. Since he was a teen, he had interest in the military. He got a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and a Combat Infantryman's Badge.

My uncle was a cook and he used to go on patrols in Iraq. You guys are joining the ARMY, not the girl scouts. If someone attacks the base you have to fight. If they are short on infantrymen, you will have to pick up the slack

Every MOS can go. My first sergeant was a 42A, Human Resources, and he went. Our company is made up of cooks, mechanics, drivers, and a plethora of MOSs that are “non combative.”

Yes, you will get deployed. Especially infantry and any combat related MOS. Think twice, the military isn’t the Girl Scouts. Shit gets real in there

Every soldier is trained as a basic infantry. If we get involved in another war you better believe you’ll get deployed. National Guard made up 45-50% of all combat troops in Afghanistan and Iraq during the war on terror.

These Recruiters are telling Half truths. The Army National Guard has a dual Mission. Title 32 for that Particular State. Whereas the Governor is Commander and Chief. Also The Army National Guard falls under Title 10 Federal Government . whereas the President of the United States is Commander and Chief. The Army National Guard makes up at least half of the Total Army's Combat Fighting force. The Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, Army Guard divisions were Deployed for Combat Arms and Logistics. Artillery, Infantry, Combat Engineers, EOD, Armor, Tanks, mechanized Infantry, Military Police. Military Intelligence Medical, Air Defense. Signal, Information Technology.
