How to Fix GPU Temperature in Not Showing in Task Manager on Windows 10 (SOLVED)

Since Windows 10 2004, you are able to see your GPU's temperature from the Task Manager. But, for some of you, that is not working. This video shows ways to fix this problem so that you can see your graphics card's temperature.

What You Need for this to Work:

- Dedicated GPU
- A GPU that supports WDDM 2.4 or higher
- The latest version of Windows 10

-----------------------------------------------------

The Run command to see if your Graphics Card supports WDDM 2.4 or higher is:

dxdiag

------------------------------------------------------

If you still can't see your graphics card's temperature despite repeated efforts, you can use apps such as GPU-Z or HWMONITOR. They work nearly as well as the Task Manager.

Thank you for the video, it was well paced, clear and easy to follow. All other criteria were met yet updating the Drivers in Device manager did not work for me sadly, but I think I know why.
It's just a hunch and complete speculation based on my observations but I've only seen this work with Nvidia cards. I'm using a modern AMD card for this system and I'm sure I'm not alone with this.
In fact as I almost got done writing this, I just remembered that modern AMD cards have two temperature sensors. A main one and a secondary one called "Junction Temperature" I'm almost willing to put money on that being the reason why it doesn't work. Anyway, good luck to you. Still, thank you for the video.

I like your idea of recommending third party programs as a work around. I should point out for those with AMD graphics cards the AMD Radeon Software (although a little bloated) will also offer you accurate GPU temperatures. If not I did get MSI Afterburner to work with it but I think my fan curve has caused compatibility issues with Windows.

My device for example is not yet updated to windows 10 2004 version because (The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page.) there are some delays might be bugs so i have to wait maybe a week or so but once it comes out my gpu version is compatible from dxdiag and the driver is latest

As far as I know, disabling iGPU in bios fix this issue. And I saw several netizen reporting same method.

For me, I use both AfterBurner and Task Manager, as my computer has had a problem of restarting randomly while playing games. Task Manager is recording the temps at 95+ degrees celsius, while afterburner is reading them at 50-60ish. I'm curious if Windows is reading my GPU temps wrong and shutting down my computer wrongfully.

it just says windows 10 failed to update... is there a way I can get my temperature without using task manager?

Do not do not do this. Updating my displays made my monitor turn off for 30 minutes and I had to reinstall my drivers manually
