The historical record that these women left behind is heartbreaking.

My great great grandfather on my father's side had two wives. He was a bishop until his death in 1923 and was still an active polygamist. He remained so until he died. So much for the manifesto.

My great great grandmother on my mother's side was a polygamist wife. Her husband helped settle Huntsville Utah but when authorities came looking for him he left Huntsville and moved down to Monticello Utah to hide from the law. He took two wives and left the one I came from in Huntsville with her 6 children to raise. Huntsville today is a very nice place to live but in the late 19th century it was hard, especially for a woman with 6 children. Once in awhile he come back to Huntsville but didn't stay long. She is Buried in the Huntsville cemetery and he is buried in Monticello with his other two wives. I don't have much respect for this man but I know many who do in my family. I come from polygamy on both sides of my family.

This isn't polygamy. This is a harem.

Yeah, if you buy the angel with the flaming sword story, then you are probably waiting patiently for the Tooth Fairy to host the Easter Bunny's birthday party. It's so damned laughable on the surface, and then when you take a closer look, it's even more absurd. But I guess "the Lord" (or someone) had a change of mind / heart on the deal, because if you practice it now, it'll get you bounced out on your backside.
