Google Maps Voice Navigation Not Working on iPhone iOS 17 - Fixed 2023

The first solution, stand on your head and look at the ceiling, worked. I mean, seriously? You're driving in an unknown area, you've turned on google maps, which apparently has no issue finding McDonald's, or Walmart or a Chik-Fil-A, and it's silent. And you're supposed to know that going to settings, then navigation, the sound, then normal, then louder, then out of settings, then maps fixes the sound? Wow. Of course, I assumed making sure the sound was on and wasn't unmuted was how to make sure the sound was on. Thanks for these excellent instructions. If I didn't have to use google maps after looking for a destination automatically, I would never use it.

Everyone keeps posting the same (common sense) thing in their videos. My problem is that the google maps voice stopped working. I’ve muted and unmuted it’s, still does it, I’ve restarted the phone (several times) but it still doesn’t work. This all randomly happened while driving to my cousin’s house, I didn’t even touch the phone!

Didn't work..It's the.IOS15 platform first it was Chrome now this> I updated Google Maps
APP changed settings per this post, nope!!. Because Apple Maps has the same problem and how many apps I pitched after getting this phone, I'm convinced something is off with their IOS 15 platform...My fix, hot spot my Samsung Galaxy S10 it works. Thanks for the settings tutorial

This messed me up picking up a new car during Christmas plus bad weather and motor way journey in bad weather almost impossible kept missing the lanes that turn off motorway too many turn offs in the journey found out it navigates fine with volume if it’s not in charge 😂

This worked for me. Literally fixed all the problems I had. Guys I would suggest you watch the full video. The first suggestion didn’t work for me but the second one did. Watch the full video and try all the suggestions before you say it didn’t work for you.

I have no profile icon when I open Google maps.

This worked for me. Jan 2023. Brand new iPhone 14 pro running iOS 16.1.2 Firstly do this while you are actually using the app on a journey, to see if the change you make actually works. I deleted the original app and re downloaded from the app store just to be sure I have the latest version of Google Maps. Contrary to the advice I have been reading on other posts to do with this issue I turned play voice over Bluetooth OFF. At the very next junction the voice assist came on. Radio still audible too. Hope that helped.
