How to enable turn by turn voice directions on Apple CarPlay

A few months ago, I purchased a new car and after connecting it to Apple CarPlay could not get the spoken navigational directions from Siri activated as they had been in my prior vehicle. Both are Mazdas with identical infotainment systems, so I was perplexed and focused on it being a phone setting. I did substantial googling to resolve the issue and read sand watched lots of guidance for resolving it, but to no avail. Your video provided the needed solution. It never occurred to me that it was a setting only available on the touchscreen. This morning I went out to my car and followed the instructions on your video, and the voice directions are now on.
