Are you feeling the strain of the job market? Wondering why, despite there being 9.6 million jobs available in America, landing one feels like an uphill battle? Join me on a deep dive into the hidden realities of the job market, where ghost jobs lurk and underpayment prevails.

In this eye-opening video, I explore the shocking phenomenon of ghost jobs – positions that are posted but don't actually exist. Have you ever applied for a job only to find out it was a ghost job? It's more common than you think, and the reasons behind it may surprise you.

I share my personal journey of job hunting, from applying to 45 jobs to uncovering the unsettling truth about ghost jobs. Learn how I stumbled upon this new job market trend and the impact it has on job seekers like you and me.

Ever wondered why ghost jobs exist in the first place? Follow me as I delve into the intricate web of turnover rates, profit margins, and the cost of training that contribute to this alarming phenomenon. Discover the financial motives behind companies keeping job listings open, even when they're not actively hiring.

Uncover the harsh reality of underpaid workers in today's job market. With the median cost of a US home at $412,000 and the federal minimum wage stagnant at $7.25, the gap between wages and the cost of living is widening. I break down the economic factors contributing to this disparity and explore why the minimum wage should ideally be around $24 per hour.

If you're navigating the challenging job market, this video is a must-watch. Gain insights, discover hidden truths, and join the conversation about the state of employment in America.

First you got to get a job. then you got to keep a job. Then it has to pay enough to cover bills and save for retirement. This is a very high bar these days.

Exactly the same in Britain. Hundreds of job applications, very rare interview and getting nothing. The applications for low menial jobs are asking so much. Agencies pay workers minimal pay. All the tricks to get you to do the worst shifts. Politicians saying there is loads of jobs which is gaslighting. Live in constant state of anxiety never knowing if going to pay bills. Cannot afford a break and then you break.

Not just in the US. This is also a growing issue in Sweden. I haven't been able to find anything stable for the last 3 years and I'm doing at least 15-30 applications every week.

One of the best feelings in YouTube is when you find a small channel that gives you a truly valuable experience with a video. I hope the algorithm continues to push your content, thank you.

Been experiencing the same thing. I’m about to graduate but can’t find a job in my field that will accept me. A dishwashing place might take me but that doesn’t cover the bills. I’m just tired of all the bs the media/ government are saying.

They collect data aggregates and sell it. That seems a bit redundant but that's the idea. Basically when you fill out an application it gets cross referenced to others. So even more data (a rough psychological profile) gets pulled from how you answer certain similar questions.

+1 for this. Speaking as an Irish guy in Germ land I'm experiencing different conditions, but got the same feeling. Keep it up

I’m 24, graduated in 2022 with a Graphic Design Degree. I recognize how people devalue art degrees, but I had worked with Netflix, Pepsi, Hulu, etc. I still wasn’t able to find a job. In 2024, I now work full time making 16/hr, and have decided to go back to school for nursing (I was always going to go back to school), either way, it’s all insane, and it’s corporate greed and billionaires trying to keep us down. I support everyone looking for work.

Interesting, informative and eye-opening. I too know someone who is struggling with getting viable employment in spite of the alleged multiple job openings. Ghost jobs are causing people to give up on themselves and their dream jobs. There’s this false sense of hope and also an inflated sense of worth since many believe they can quit their current jobs because there are another dozen jobs waiting (or so they think). Keep up the great content that educates us!

Pretty much only industries hiring are healthcare, blue collar work and hospitality/fast food.

I have just graduated college and noticed some of these jobs that are paying less than $20hr are requiring a bachelors degree. It is actually insulting!!

Its really annoying to me how people say minimum wage workers dont deserve to be paid $15 or more. Fastfood being one of the best examples. They say teens don't deserve to be paid more than minimum... like it isnt also an adults job. An adult who can't afford to eat with 7.25. If only teens work there then the should open from 4pm to 10 pm every single day. (Kids are at school during the day and need a full 8-9 hours of sleep at night). Cars are not affordable and College is very expensive even with government help and scholarships. A fast food restaurant can make 6 figures or more a year they can definitely afford to raise wages. Where I'm from they will gladly pay people between minimum wage and 10 at best 13 dollars.

Afraid that moving in with family or parents is going to be the norm after this contrived downturn in the job market that is 2024. Yes this is the worst I've seen in 20 years and it appears global.

It makes me feel depressed and hopeless 😢 I don’t have kids and I have a savings and my needs met yet I am still not able to afford a place that isn’t 50% of my income. Like for real I know why unaliving is up. Fkn breaks a person down. Everyone I know is depressed about the COL and working multiple jobs…except my Gen X parents who got their house cheap and school degrees cheap. Must be nice to be the last generation. Though they are fcks too cuz the COL is eating their retirement.

A few things: you’re channel is great
Your voice is powerful yet soothing, you topic is interesting and thought provoking.
The filler words used (uhhs and umms, ) are a little distracting and mentioning the statistics and not reciting them in the video is a little bizarre.and might take away credibility to some. Other than that you’re going in the right direction and this has the makings to become a great channel… continue moving forward. I’ll be liking and subscribing so I can say “ I was there when he first got started!”
