The VW group has stopped using heat pumps in their cars because their version does not work. The PR spin is they have a chip shortage. Tesla's is an engineering marvel. Somebody goofed on the code that was delivered in the 2021 Holiday update and is leaving a valve open. Is VW still sending people to dealerships because there OTA is still broken? Software updates will always be a risk. Once in a while a problem will be introduced. This will eventually be the case with most possibly all cars.

Actually my old 2015 Nizzan Leaf has a heat pump and it works great. So only 7 years before Tesla.

But ICE's already can derive heat easily from the engine and heat up the cabin, and it's been there for a long time, how is Tesla any better than that as a winter car?
