Imagine it's 3am and you're staring at the ceiling with your thoughts in disarray because you drank almost 1 liters of various types of coffee during the day

12:28 G7 as in "Group of Seven" - US, UK, CA, FR, DE, IT, JP. Mr. Vu named his flagship product that way because he believes it's so good it's worth serving to the G7 leaders.

My very first ca phe sua da was when I asked my father-in-law to bring me back a pack of Vietnamese coffee and a phin from Vietnam. Not knowing where to buy it from, he went to Highlands Coffee, and brought back a pack of ground robusta from them, and their branded phin. So I made it at home following tutorials from actual Vietnamese people (I wanted to make it right) and it turned out delicious! Fast forward a couple years, and I went to Vietnam for the first time, and it was now time for me to finally taste what TRUE ca phe sua da should taste like. Let me tell you this: I have tried several chains, but also independant coffee shops, and nothing compared to the one I made at home. I finally went to Highlands, and it was the only place where it was just as good, if not better. I thought it would be like Starbucks, just low-quality coffee with great branding. But oddly enough, it is by far the best way to experience Vietnamese coffee, wether you buy one already made in the shop, or buy you coffee bags there for you to make at home.
Long story short: Highlands Coffee makes the best Vietnamese coffee.

I prefer local coffee with that chocolatey taste or stand alone cafes. But as far as the chains go here is my ranking, but keep in mind even the last one is good coffee:

1. Cong Ca Phe
2. Phuc Long
3. Trung Nguyen Legend
4. Highlands Coffee
5. Katinat
6. Coffee House

I would translate “cà phê phố” as “street coffee”. As in “hè phố” = street. I would only use “city” for “thành phố”.

Your taste is very popular with Vietnamese people, so your ranking is quite accurate. Great!

I want to show you the trick that i picked up, you would want to buy the Nescafe Nước Cốt Cà Phê Đen, - the Black Coffee version - and get yourself some condensed milk, pour it in and stir it up, no hot water needed, way better than the Cà Phê Sữa Đá of the same brand.

Hey chef, for the Nescafe 10:20, I would suggest that the term "cốt" here is like a concentrated version of the coffee, so you would just pour it in some water or ice to smooth it out so it will be ready to go!

A lil story told by my History teacher, after the reunification of the North and South of Vietnam in 1975, some Northerner traveled to the South and saw coffee with phin filter for the first time. Unknown how to order it from the local coffee shop, they called it "Coffee with a pot sitting on the glass" (cà phê có cái nồi ngồi trên cái ly). My family has always adore coffee (addicted) so I really like and hold this story dear in my heart

Damn nice video dude! As a Vietnamese I think your reviews are pretty accurate and reasonable, plus you nailed all the pronunciations too imo so that's quite impressive xD

My mate got hooked up after he tries the G7, and thats how he knows Vietnam exist. He drinks more than 2 packs per morning. My Aussie love the taste of G7 that much that he wouldnt change instant coffee brand ever since.
