I don’t care if they are both in the room. What I want is an intelligent probing interview on the ISSUES, NOT a gotcha interview for the purpose of driving up the ratings for the media outlet.

I think the only people who care are the news media. The general public could care less. News outlets often perceive the public as more policy driven when they are actually looking at presentation and character more. As evidenced by her continued rise in the polls without giving an interview prior to now. Plus Walz is a rock star with her base and independents... nothing she does or says will sway Trump supporters so she is playing to her audience. Great campaign move to give interview just before a holiday weekend as any misses on her part will be old news by Tuesday. If she can get a full throated endorsement from Taylor Swift or Beyonce on Tuesday would be perfect and then on to the debate. I actually give her more credit for not giving into demands and staying true to what she believes is best for her and the campaign.

Come on Michael…. You have to take off the journalist hat when it comes to how much she’s interviewed up until now. It’s not like she was the sitting President and everybody knew since 2021 that she’d be running for reelection.
She’s made the most out of the past 45 days and have touched as many people as she could in all corners of the country.
The only thing guaranteed to come out of this interview will be that it gives news talk shows, journalists, and political content creators something to agree with, disagree with, be a pessimist about, and play devils advocate.. The general punki won’t learn anymore about her today than we already knew about her.

I am not sure I like how the poll question is asked. The premise that it's a mistake feels suggestive that the interview is already a negative, imho. Wouldn't just asking how your audience feels, without any other descriptions, be less likely to sway a response?
