Seriously though, I never really took any advice like this from videos or others when I wrote my application essay. The one thing I ever really took to heart was to "write about something you're interested in." Writing about something you care about makes writing so much easier and you can write about it so much more. Comparing your life to an object honestly just seems dumb to me and writing about your life and what got you to this point is just boring and overused.

However, you'll still need to connect your interest to yourself. How has that interest made you who you are today? Do you want to get into a career from that interest?

It helps show how passionate you are about things. I wrote my essay about my love for cosplaying and how much dedication it takes to balance an interest like that (creating the outfit, going to cons, etc) while still balancing school and maintaining good grades. Honestly its been awhile since I wrote that essay so I don't remember all the shit I talked about on it lmao.
