Back when Kmart was still a thing, (I was in high school) I walked down to the local Kmart on my off period (open campus was great) and was gonna pick up a gift for a friend's birthday, and some snacks to keep in my locker. I got the gift and was just wandering around the snack aisle and I set the gift down on a shelf while looking at some snacks. I forgot I left it there, and realized when I went back to grab it a loss prevention "officer" grabs me and says I need to go with him. He searches my backpack, he can't strip search me without someone else there since I'm a minor. Cop comes and they don't find anything. LPO insisted I was gonna steal the gift. I had money to cover the cost of the items I had. Cop tells the LPO to drop it and cut me loose. LPO does not let me go. Requires my mother to come get me. She had to leave work and come pick me up. LPO filed the report anyways. I go to court. The officer that was there initially shows up as well, and says their never should have been filed. I had a chance to sue for damages, but all I wanted was that creep of an LPO to lose his job and face charges for false imprisonment and false reporting. He did jail time, which was way more satisfying than me getting money.

What about the SEARCH part of the fourth amendment especially when it comes to online activity especially in private messages like DMs and email.
