What’s absurd is the fact that NASA’s budget is probably smaller than the slice Dr. Tyson cut from the dollar bill…

The U.S. spends a trillion dollars a year on "defense" much of which is paid to contractors who can charge whatever they want due to lack of competition. NASA will likely get a 25 billion dollar budget in 2025 which is just a drop in the bucket in comparison. Some of the most important innovations of the last 100 years came out of NASA which is why it's so important to invest in science.

What’s often lost in investing in space is the research that’s conducted which has already improved our lives massively.

People thinking we attaching money to space ships and sending them to space when in reality the money just gets recirculated back into the economy

People who think money for space technologies is wasted are the same people who think laptops or cell phones grow on trees. Space will be the most important thing for us humans in future (asteroid mining, colonization, transportation, planetary defense etc.) and the most developed country/company will have the most saying, just saying 🤷🏻‍♂️

Social Security and Accounting was 22% of the annual budget of 2023, “Defense” was 13.3% of the annual budget. Then NASA’s is 0.48% and they say it’s too much? Dawg the US got 6.13 Trillion for the 2023 budget.

Start a campaign called "Penny for NASA".

Convince people to chase their reps to spend just a penny per dollar from the federal budget on NASA.
The people who say "too much is being spent" will think it's a cut. The people who know will know how beneficial it will be 😅
