i tried this last night and i have a few comments. getting the plastic cover to release is very tricky without breaking it as it is very thin. therefore be very careful. next, the release of the mirror and the plug is easy as it is shown here. but, the inserting of the new mirror is very difficult, not like it is shown here. you really have to stop and look for the way to align the new mirror prior to the insertion. be very careful, this could crack your window if not careful. it didn't happen to me, but i have read online where it has done that. Lastely, nothing is shown here on the setup of the compass. you need to have a paperclip and insert it into the hole beside the bluetooth button for 15 secs. then, you need to know the number for your area. once you know the number, repeatedly insert the paperclip until the number is showing on the screen. then, wait until the screen show C. then, go for a ride to a parking lot and drive in a circle at slow speed until the directions come up. hope this helps.

Crazy, my GTI SE in the US comes with the home link mirror but the R didn’t in 🇨🇦? Wait, maybe that’s another dealer option I didn’t ask for that I wound up paying for anyways 🤔 😭
