Huh surprisingly, this works in general:

If we start in factored form: (ax+b)(cx+d), this gives us the generic form of a quadratic as (ac)x^2+(ad+bc)x+bd. Then according to this method, we would consider x^2+(ad+bc)x+abcd, which easily factors as (x+bc)(x+ad). Then we would divide the constants in the factors by the leading coefficient of the original quadratic, ac: giving (x+(b/a))(x+(d/c)). Multiplying by ac brings us to
