The small hexagon mosaic needs a 2-3mm trowel bed, otherwise adhesive squeezes to the surface. On the surface instead of grouting. Ditra heat is a handy system but needs more adhesive to fill the gaps

Could you just go with floor leveler over the ditra heat, then the mosaic

You just fill it with thinset and come back the next day, make sure it’s good and flat tho when it’s still wet

Ok. You are doing it wrong. You need to put schluter membrane over the ditra heat and coils. Then put ANY tile over the schluter membrane - no problem. The electric coil should be waterproofed especially when putting a heating coil in the shower itself.

why is heat in the actual shower such a great thing? doesn't warm water give you enough??
