This recipe most definitely does have enough soap to effectively clean clothes. Castile soap is a gentle yet effective cleaner, and using 1/2 cup of it ALONG with the baking soda AND washing soda amount in this recipe will most definitely provide sufficient cleaning power. The addition of doTERRA essential oils with cleaning properties will also enhance the scent and add additional cleaning properties. And of course depending on your load size you can add more or less detergent depending on your cleaning needs and preferences.

Will it disinfect? I like to wash my clothing in cold with a disinfectant to make my clothes last. I know they sell the disfectant laundry products that work, peroxide works, and Lysol spray works(spray it on your clothes with stain remover plus laundry detergent), but I'm in a pinch right now...Does Borox work for that, because I have some of that?! Does BS disinfect?!

✨💫 What You Will Need:

14 cups water
1/2 c. baking soda
1/2 c. Washing soda
1/2c. Castile soap
35-40 drops essential oil

Boil Water and Let cool to room temperature before placing in the glass container. Then mix in your remaining ingredients stirring well after each addition. You can mix by hand or use and immersion blender. Separation can occurs between use as with all natural detergents, if this happens, give a good mix before each use! Enjoy your homemade laundry detergent! #🌻✨
