This is the perfect way to avoid wasting your spoiled vegetables to make your own stock powder which will last for many months in a sealed jar. The cool thing about making this is that you could add any sort of vegetables, stems, leaves etc.

You can also do this with the left over pulp of juiced vegetables.

NOTE: The vegetables are not “spoiled” but have a few parts decaying which is at this stage that people consider not edible.

STOCK POWDER RECIPE:

4-5 x Carrots
4 x Celery Stems
4-5 x Onions
1 x Garlic Bulb
2 x Leeks
300g mushrooms
Ginger
Parsley
Rosemary
Thyme

BEETS STOCK POWDER RECIPE:

3-4 x beets including leaves
1 x onion
1 x leek
3 x spring onions
3 x celery stems (I used some from the garden)
Lightly salted

SPICY STOCK POWDER:

4 x Carrots
3 x Celery Stems
4-5 x Onions
1 x Garlic Bulb
2 x Leeks
3-4 x mild chillies

TIP: If you have a dehydrator it’s quick and energy efficient or alternatively you could use your oven at the lowest setting.

Keep in mind that you really shouldn't do this if mould has started to form on the veggies. Once the mould becomes visible it's mycelium has already spread through the entire veggie.

I used to make regular stock with veggie scaps but now I actually prefer the powder normally. More uses that way

To everyone out their make sure you add salt to this so it doesn't grow mold. If it's already moldy don't use it at all its already spread through the entire fruit or vegetable even if it's just a tiny bit.

This is so inspiring!... Your tattoos and ways to make use of scraps remind me so much of when I practiced tattoos on orange peels. I would let them dry out and then either hang them up as my art pieces or use them as little containers for my jewelry 😊
