Operation Barbarossa was actually Hitler's best option at the time, Stalin was planning to invade Germany in 1943-1944, and the Germans needed Soviet oilfields. The invasion was very succesful in the beginning until Stalingrad, Moscow, Kursk Etc

Napoleon never initiated the invasion in mid winter. He brought a large invasion force for a quick decisive victory. The only reason Napoleon lost was because the Russians used Scorched Earth tactics and constantly harassed Napoelon's supply lines. Napoleon even captured Moscow only to find that Russians had left the city and set fire to it. By this time it was winter and Napoleon had run out of supplies. Napoleon was not stupid enough to invade Russia in mid winter.

hitters invasion of Russia in hindsight was a bad decision, but at the time it was the best choice. Stalin had just gone through with one of his military purges, so his armed forces were without command and disorganized, they had just lost a war against Finland, Stalin was yet to mobilize on the eastern front, and at this moment Stalin still trusted Hitler. it was the best time to invade the only mistake was thinking that Stalin cared about casualties.

You missed the battle of Varna, where the Hungarian king died because he thought he could fight the Ottoman Sultan's Guard

Invading Russia was a good idea. Russia would have invaded them anyway if that got to close to winning they would have been MUCH more powerful. It is Hitlers own personal decisions like invading Stalingrad instead of Moscow that lost him the war and not packing winter cloths.

Wait, wasn't Britain allied to the Ottomans in the Crimean War?

If so charging your allies is even worse than charging into a slaughter against the enemy.

How did you leave out the Battle of Carrhae? Probably the most crushing defeat in Roman history as Crassus lead 50, 000 men to their doom in Parthian territory.

The worst military decision ever was Hitler's order to halt the proceeding German Panzer forces 8 miles short of Dunkirk for 3 days in 1940. If he had let them pursue, the bulk of the French army and the complete British expedition force would have been cut off from the sea in Belgium and most certainly been crushed by the Germans, leaving the British without any land forces in Europe.
Evenso, the Germans could have defeated Britain if they had not switched from attacking British Air Force bases in England to bombing London during the following Battle of Britain. The RAF was on the brink of annihilation by the Luftwaffe, and without air cover and the British having left all their heavy armor in Dunkirk, Britain would have been defenseless during a then imminent German invasion. After a British defeat, Hitler would have easily conquered Russia, being able to throw all of his resources toward the east.
Thank God he was an idiot!

If Hitler had his hands on the nucleair bombs at the end of the war, today would be totally different. He almost had them.

That last one was also because Bin Landen helped them, and turned out to be good for both money and help.

Napoleon attacked Russia in the winter? I certainly understand that in the mass consciousness in Russia always winter, BUT the INVASION BEGAN IN JUNE, AND IN JUNE, THE SUMMER, SUMMER IN RUSSIA is NOT COLD AND HOT. NAPOLEON CAPTURED MOSCOW IN SEPTEMBER AND IT IS AUTUMN, BUT IN SEPTEMBER THE TEMPERATURE IS FOR THE MOST PART +30 ° C. FROST STARTS TOWARDS THE END OF NOVEMBER. WINTER BEGINS IN DECEMBER.
