Just got my hands on an absolutely PERFECT candidate for the full Tommy Treatment. This 1988 Kramer Stagemaster Deluxe II is going to be getting a complete overhaul and a new lease on life. It'll take a few months, and other projects are going on at the same time. Plus, I need to decide what color to go with, if I want to do graphics (and what kind of graphics), what parts to run, etc. Lots of decisions to be made, but it's going to be awesome when it's all done.

Let me know in the comments how you would refinish it :)

That color is delicious! And the neck and fretboard look incredible!

That will look stunning and play even better by the time you are done. Can’t wait to see the result.

Awesome buy. My first "real" guitar was a Kramer Striker 300 ST in midnight blue. Must have been an '87 or '88. I had some of my high school senior pictures taken with it, so while the guitar is long gone at least I have some photos of it. Always wanted a Nightswan but never found a good deal on one back in the day. The holoflash finished Kramers were awesome as well, Andy Timmons of Danger Danger used to play one as well as Steve Brown from Trixter. I'd research doing a holoflash finish on that.

I discovered Kramer late in my guitar playing. All I can say "SHIT, I missed out"! Now I have one. If I can keep it in tune, I'm golden. Sometimes it stayz in tune. However, when I grind away playing, it goes out. Still a great feeling neck and plays exceptionally good!

Idk that color is sick, would you want to change it?

From the thumbnail I was thinking that was a Jackson case. Then I saw the closures and realized it wasn't a factory case. So turns out it's a similar vintage and style.

Old Kramers are great, though I have never tried one of the NT versions and thats what I like. One of my regrets is selling my Holokrackle Nightswan

If you can, do a shoot out with your restored Stagemaster vs Epiphone's Kramer SM-1. I know the original is better but it would still make a great video. You should give the Stagemaster to Dan Lawrence for the refinish and try a Kramer Nightswan/Proaxe (it has a 24 3/4" scale).

Love old Kramer guitars! I’ve a Nightswan lightning bolt from 1989, killer axe

It’s funny how we all have our “deal killers”…yours is the neck heel…mine is volume knob placement and extra jumbo frets…those 2 things are deal killers for me…sweet guitar…80’s Kramers are the tits👍

You should have it Holoflashed on black

Made by ESP in Japan for Kramer so it's basically the same guitar as a Mirage Custom.

Don’t see many with dot inlays. 90% have claws or diamonds

Why refinish that guitar? That color looks great as it is.

I knew it was S style because of the case.

You should try Jackson Soloists. They all have neck-through construction with smooth neck joints like that one.
