I remember when this amazing song came out. It was 1977 and I just graduated from High School. Take a look at the crowd. Everyone was happy, dancing, singing and smiling.. The lyrics in Mr. Blue Sky was about just having a happy day. No politics, no hate, race baiting, or blaming.. It was just a fun song. I feel so blessed to be born in 1959. In growing up, I experienced the radical 60s, the 70s when the Vietnam was over, the economy was great and there were jobs everywhere. Some people tell me I should write a book about it and my life experiences Now that I am 65 and I just might.

Fun fact: In the original recording, what sounds like a cowbell was actually made by drummer Bev Bevan hitting a fire extinguisher that he found in the recording studio with a piece of metal. In this video, the backup singer does the same thing at 1:45.

Saw them last night in Cleveland, Ohio. This was their encore song. No body was sitting. Everyone dancing and singing along and believe me when I tell you most of the crowd was over 50. It was an amazing show…the music, the lighting, all the fabulous effects. This guy is a master!
