Missed a perfect opportunity to use the RamCharger name, in my opinion. 😄 Nevertheless, I'm still very interested to see what they do with this truck.

Ram - Please don’t make an “Avalanche” style truck! Just do what Ford did and make a regular truck that happens to be electric.

Id like to see something with distributive power like a locomotive. Electric pickups are just not up to the task of towing long distance alone without a lot of downtime.

I like the plug in hybrid approach, but will never buy an all electric vehicle. I like to drive on vacations, which I will drive further than 400 miles a day. EVs will not work for me.

My thoughts are there isnt a chance in hell ill ever blow $100, 000+ to be a beta tester for GM or any of these other OEM's who think everyone wants the latest gimmicks and buzzwords on their vehicle. I ordered an E Transit commercial van which is set to be built March 14th and that almost fully loaded was $56k which already seems kinda steep, I know there are "cheaper" versions of these trucks planned for who knows when, but I think they should be building those FIRST which would make them more accessible to the average consumer. Im personally not interested in some $90, 000 Ford Lightning when at the end of the day it only offers 70 more miles than their standard range for example, and I suspect RAM will be the same way... $100k grand or higher for their "1st edition" to me is absolutely absurd.

Diesel/Electric hybrid in a traditional style truck. A Trailboss LT, Rebel, or Tremor with this powertrain would be very exciting.

Oh also wanna know what it costs after 4-5 years to replace the battery packs? Long term i think these will cost more than Gas or Diesel engine options.

I just bought my first truck, and I can't believe it's going to be outdated this quick, lol. The 4th gens had a good 10 years of being the current gens, the 5th gen will only have about 5

Based on everything we know, a greater range means higher prices. It's looking like every 100 miles of range past the 300 miles benchmark may require about a $10k upcharge. Ram has yet to address it. Ford has announced a multi-billion dollar investment in its TN & KY projects with SK Innovation, and GM is investing billions in its LG Chem/GM Ultium project. It is becoming a war of who can spend their way out of the ICE age, and truthfully, if one of them gets it wrong, they will likely not survive. It will be interesting to see who gets it right.

I really hope they build a regular cab long bed! We’ll probably be left out 😞

Trucks are the worst use case for EVs. I really don't know why everyone is announcing a vehicle that isn't more EV friendly, like a cheap commuter car, or super efficient person moved looks an aptera. These Trucks just aren't ready for widespread adoption for people who need to tow and haul even mid range trips. The huge batteries they will need just take too long to charge. Maybe, the 4680 batteries from Tesla will change that, but I doubt it. Still be an hour+ to charge a 150kWh battery. Rather, Put a 50kWh battery in a Aptera type vehicle and your charging for 10 min every 300+ miles. Way better use case for now. Trucks need solid state imo, especially considering they are $100k!

While talking about the aerodynamics to improve range, how about addressing the horsepower issue. Instead of giving us 800 horsepower, why not 400 horsepower with a 50% increase in range.

Curious to see how EV trucks improve over the next 10 years from the traditional brands. Right now we are in a transition phase between introductions and convincing current truck owners. Due to chip and battery shortages, it may be awhile before we see the acceptance and transition. But let me say this, we will see traditional truck brands delivered before that Cybertruck ever gets mass produced.

EVs, with current technology, are nothing more than an attempt to appeal to a niche market.

They consistently underperform, have (still) unacceptable charge times, and cost way too much. Lithium is a dead end street

Right now I can go to any number of gas stations to fill up. I only have one source for my home electricity. I guess my point is, it’s a lot easier for the government to shut down travel in a city by turning off the power than shutting down gas/diesel fuel supplies. Thoughts?

I am waiting for the DeWalt truck, at least you can swapout the battery.

With Ram's history of electrical issues.... this should be....interesting.

I just read a Yahoo article that suggests that RAM will conduct a survey to try and figure out what real world owners want.

"But wait, there's more. Ram is also planning to conduct a yearlong tour talking with owners to try to figure out what they actually need and want from electric trucks and vans in daily life."

This attempt to survey owners to try and find out what they want is news? Either way looking forward to all things electric.

andre there would have to be a hump in the frame to accommodate the live axle if not independent rear suspension.
