Dude just sell that fish youre in way over your head, that fish isnt even half its adult size yet. I was looking at an oscar a few months back but after doing my "RESEARCH" I found out the minimum for an oscar fish is 75 gallons and thats pushing it. Honestly a 125 gallon would ideal.

“NICE BIG 20 GALLON TANK.” WTF?!? Who puts an Oscar, especially that size in a SMALL 20 gallon tank? Try living in a 4x6 room and see how you feel. I’ve kept all kinds of fish, fresh, brackish and saltwater, for over 40 years and this is heartbreaking to see. Research a pet and give it the proper habitat before you bring it home. This fish needs a minimum of 75 to 100 gallons, especially when it full grown. Quoting Forrest Gump, “Stupid is as stupid does.” SMH!

You need at LEAST a 55 gallon aquarium for a adult Oscar

I’m always finding used 75s for 200 or so with the stand and most times they include the decor and filtration. $200 bucks ain’t a lot especially when they spent 800 or more on the same setup new. Don’t wanna be cheesy like everyone else but they need the room.

This makes me so sad. Oscars are very intelligent fish and need a lot of room to show their true personality. Please upgrade him to a 75 gallon. A 55 gallon is the BARE minimum for one Oscar, so a 20 gallon would be like living in your closet.

20 gallon isn't big enough he's still way to big. I wouldn't put just one in anything under 75 gallons.

Having a fish stay alive in a small tank doesn’t mean “you know what your doing”. Would you live a happy and enriching life in a jail cell for your whole life? The point when keeping large fish is to give them everything and more that they need. Should be that way with any and every living animal but we know where your opinions lay with that one.

How he thinks the 20 gallon is better and that the oscar is happy now . I suppose I would like to be taken out of a tiny box and but into a small box . Maybe he is slightly happier for a month 😒

Omg!! That poor Oscar has no room in either tank. The first one was ridiculous. That was the dungeon of doom. The other one is torture. I think you she donate him so he'll be happier. He looks beautiful.

I don’t understand… if you can’t afford a big fish like this, why not get a few nice community fish that would’ve fit nicely into that 20 gallon?

You need to get rid of that oscar or buy a way bigger tank

Not okay for an Oscar at all a 55 gallon is the absolute bare minimum even that pushing it you should have at least 100 gallons for one oscar

I’m so shocked you would think this tank was ever big enough for an Oscar..
An adult Oscar sized between 8/10 inches would require a minimum volume of 275 litres as a minimum.
This making that tank 4 foot long( and this would still be advised to be upgraded to a 5foot tank….)…

I don’t have anything more to say than …. Sell the fish boyo- let someone who can give it a good home with correct tank size the chance to own him.
