How Cheating Almost Destroyed Bhop

Bhop is a competitive speedrunning game in the counter-strike franchise (CS 1.6, CS:S and CSGO), with a history that extends over 20 years. We investigated 2 confirmed cheaters, each of whom had their own motivations and ultimate downfall. If you like the video, leave a like and subscribe!

Just want to clarify the cheating started a literal month before I was banned (November 2022) when I got arcane and all those other runs
What made people suspicious was me cheating cutekittenz cause that route is almost as hard as the monster_jam route
Why I started cheating is unclear to me now as it happened half a year ago but it was not cause I had to fix my life
That was just a reason to make people feel bad for me for some reason
I think I started cheating due to greed and laziness. Just getting the records without having to spend an awful lot of time

So in conclusion the runs that I actually beat newdun legit was fps_max and pharma. The “evidence” of them being legit is that at least pharma had a full shadow play compared to the cheated runs that had the last 30 seconds shadow played

Bhop always had the reputation even from way back of being full of cheaters, so it's pretty poetic that the guy who was gonna avenge the big cheater ended up being an even bigger cheater himself. Really good video, would love more random stories of bhop/surf in the future, theres so many funny anecdotes to tell just like this example

i used to play with newdun and some friends on gmod deathruns and bhop, never knew he cheated, never told us, never suspected. It's sad and feel weird to learn it. thanks for the vid was great

I stumbled accros this video randomly and found it amusing as I played bhop in css quite a lot back in 2013-2019. And though i'm not sur about the time, I know for a fact Newdun was already a known cheater in the french bhop community back then. He was banned AT LEAST twice then for strafe hacking.
So while the news of him cheating his runs is sad, it come with no surprise and I'm sure quite a few people who played back then would confirm it.
Anyways, good video! Seeing bhop being still active in css warms my heart somehow !

Thats crazy that a percentage sign was the giveaway, I guess sometimes simple things can be overlooked. I wonder if the MMR tool creators did that on purpose so that people can differentiate between real runs and recorded runs

What newdun means is that their cheats are so undetectable it would create overload, everyone would use his methods since the efficacy of the cheat being so hard to detect would make so appealing to replicate thus creating so much extra work for people responsible for unmasking cheaters
