This is an unboxing video for one of the rarest American Anime releases to my knowledge given the OVA's troubled history on DVD.

I was unsure on this purchase as it's a lot of money for not very much but given the rarity and the likelihood that this would be one of the few chances to get this release and maybe the only one in this condition, I couldn't pass it up.

Kind of felt the same way when I came across the Birdy the mighty OVAs in a FYE store. There were easily affordable but I didn't like the idea of spending money just to say I have it. I think I could've sold them but their demand isn't exactly the greatest.

It was a fun OVA, A nice bit of Anime history not only in it being a very early OVA but also the great commentary track on it which had some great history of Anime facts in it too. Its certainly rare and while not many would agree i actually got this for a bargain considering prices I've heard others pay for it. Still a far cry from its initial retail price though i do confess lol

yeah was a tad expensive but its extremely hard to find so i was happy to pay that for it. Its actually a pretty good OVA and the Commentary on it was almost worth the price of admission alone.

I recently bought Manga's "The End of Evangelion" DVD and it cost me almost the same. Those rare DVDs are pain to get.

I bought it from Amazon marketplace in the US. I enjoyed the OVA, nothing overly special but solid. I really enjoyed the commentary track for it. Some great facts and history were on it.

haha yeah i was psyched when i saw this on Amazon. Expensive no doubt but not something you see everyday so I decided to take the chance to own this set. It was worth it too, i enjoyed the OVA and the commentary track also included was fantastic!

I checked and there isn't a single copy for sale online, you should sell it for profit. I sold a new copy of Eureka Seven vol 11 for $224 once.

I have something rare coming but not uber rare. It will cost $100 once a few more copies sell, hopefully I get it on Saturday. I don't get that many out of print anime's anymore, I bought all the ones I wanted pretty much. Just pre-orders now.

Yeah it turned out to be a good OVA, not amazing but not terrible either. It also had an awesome commentary track on it which i enjoyed too. Its a very rare set and something i thought i would never really get a chance to own so despite the price i decided to take the dive and get it. No regrets : )

No it's painfully obvious they wanted to cut the middle man and make more money out of this old school anime, probably because they only had the licence for a shorter amount of time then normal maybe.

Honestly Region 1 DVD's can really go OTT with their packaging, when you know that there is no need for it.

It arriving brand new did give me a split second dilemma in the unboxing. I mean i could have resold it for even more should i had chose too, but honestly i wanted to watch it, its why i bought it. So yeah i won't be selling it, unless it gets a BD release which will never happen lol
