I grew a small patch of spring wheat in a raised bed last yr for fun

We put out winter wheat for our ducks this past year .. they loved it, and we will be harvesting the grain mid June - once it warms up and the grass toughens, they shift their interest to other things .. like the grasshoppers that would eat the wheat 😁

Sidewalk gardening can be a bit risky considering dogs may urinate on it, & local councils may even spray the area with weed killer.

I've watched this yard become an entire garden since it was built. Kinda cool and I can't complain because if you know this area of the city this house is probably one of the nicer properties around the area.

Only in Canada can you safely grow wheat on the side of the road near a sidewalk in public. Try that here in America and some young punk will trample it for you, right after some old man lets his dog pee on it while out on a walk, while Karen from the HOA says you are violating some neighborhood rule and can't do that.
