It’s weird how the story is about how the republicans are making accusations but the reporters aren’t investigating if it’s true or not.

Good luck with that. The question is, how truthful are you? The media is going to cover this and the election overalljust like 2016.

I'm 58. I don't ever remember hearing veterans of US military trash other veterans for political gain. It's pretty sickening.

As an Army retiree, I wish the news organizations would contact the Office of The Adjutant General of Minnesota to ask any and all questions about CSM (1SG/MSG) Walz's record and retirement instead of civilian journalists. Civilians stumble over titles, schooling, characterization of service, even nomenclature of weapon systems and it is cringe.

It’s not regarding his service. It’s regarding his lying about being in combat, which he was never in a designated war zone. Fabrication for political gain shows lack of character. Disqualifying.

Do people realize that Ike Eisenhower, the great Ike Eisenhower by the way, never saw combat. A 5-Star General and Supreme Commander never actually saw any combat. Dont throw stones at anyone in the military because they weren't Patton or Audie Murphy

Walz was not discharged. He retired, these are two separate things entirely.

How low can they go? We should not be surprised by anything. True patriots honor everyone's service.

Walz filed papers for Congress in January 2005, filed papers for retirement in February 2005, retired in March 2005, and the orders to deploy only came in July 2005, the unit deployed in March 2006, a full year after Walz retired, look it up !!!

"Minnesota National Guard spokesperson Capt. Holly Rockow told Minnesota Public Radio in 2018 it’s fair to say Walz served as sergeant major since that was his rank at the time of his retirement in 2005"

"The Minnesota National Guard was notified of its deployment in July 2005, two months after Walz announced his run for Congress, Politico reported, though there were rumors at the time of Walz’s announcement that the battalion could be deployed, retired command sergeant major Joseph Eustice, who served with Walz, told ABC News."

As a 28 year veteran of 4 combat tours in 2 wars I can say i am disgraced by anyone who lies about their military service especially for personal and political gain. As a representative for the Veterans Administration in Pennsylvania. He will not get the veteran von or Veterans families vote here in Philadelphia for sure.

I am a 20yr Air Force Veteran and a gulf war veteran and I would never question another brother or sister in arms service. There is many moving parts in the life of military men and women and every part is important in order for any mission to succeed. So trump and Vance should back off!

Walz had attained Master Sergeant rank but, because he retired after holding the title 4 years instead of 5, he retired under the lower rank. However, the military rightly says he was a Sergeant Major and is justified in using the title. When the military backs you up, it means 'Shady' Vance should shut up, because he's alienated a lot of veterans who also note that Vance never served in combat, either.
Walz also submitted his retirement request before his unit was told of the deployment, and the deployment was listed as occurring sometime in the next TWO years. As it happens, when his retirement came through, his unit's deployment came two months later.
Keep in mind that Walz was sent overseas several times to aid in the war in Afghanistan, and the ONLY reason the NATIONAL Guard was sent overseas was because of Bush's horrific mistake in attacking Iraq. He needed more men and, instead of instituting a draft which would have resulted in enormous protests throughout the country, he signed an executive order making the National Guard an international force.

They are focusing on Walz military career because they don't want to focus on his policies because the majority of Americans like his policies, like free school lunch, strong unions, family and sick paid leave, and many more.

Maybe they wouldn’t if he hadn’t lied about his service and rank.. just a thought

The JD and Walz both served honorably. Done. Now can we get back to the issues?
