Why settle for a GMT when you can get perhaps the best Worldtimer from an independent manufacture of the highest order?

Definitely some hidden gems in older Chopard L.U.C. It’s hard to get over the whole HongKong/Beijing thing 🤣!

I have one on my wrist now. Bought it at a Chopard event here in Kuala Lumpur. First ever luxury watch and I’m super happy with it. Also got a lot of insight from the very charming French Chopard rep, Ken.

Excellent review and beautiful watch … picked one up based on your review, and it’s the perfect WT. One more thing it has that most other WTs don’t have is a second hand, which animates the dial.

Nice - I was looking at these just the other day. Definitely some interesting watches lurking in the Chopard catalogue.

I prefer the JLC Master Geographic but agree that this Chopard is a beautiful piece that I have also considered in recent years. Congratulations on another splendid addition to your collection Uptick!

Ice skating competition in Moscow in one hour! 😂 Love the watch. I think the Omega Worldtimer is a fabulous alternative but a little bit big! Also the JLC Master Geographic of course which is beautiful.

I own one and I love it. Now an alternative worldtimer that I own too and packed with complications is the Zenith Doublematic. It is a rare one too.

You Sir, have great taste in watches. Awesome purchase, really cool watch. I think this and the Zenith calendar are some of my favourites in your collection. Think we will be needing another SOTC in a couple of months, its hard to keep up😅

A very beautiful watch that has been on my watchlist for a while. I wish it had an independently adjustable hour hand, though. I have the JLC Geophysic Universal Time which is another beautiful worldtimer, discontinued in 2020. The Alpine Eagle is on my list as well, its dial is second to none.

Great purchase Uptick. There is so much fun to be had with LUC. Was hoping for a sub 40mm GMT one or time traveler during this years W&W..nothing again. There are some really cool time traveler LE's too, the UAE version being the nicest. Unfortunately the quantities are always very limited. The Alpine eagle indonesia LE and maritime editon are great too. It's worthwhile just to stop by the Chopard boutique every now and then. The limiteds are not announced and you really have to stumble upon them.

Re Hong Kong vs Beijing, I feel your sentiment! Recently I was looking at a worldtimer from Glashutte Original and it had such a weird bunch of cities on the ring I was like WTF. But then I noticed it had no Moscow on tje dial and went like 💪💪 It predated tje current war but considering what Soviets did to Dresden and the surrounding areas in the WWII and afterwards, I guess Germans decided to stick it to them. And that made me smile))

I got really fascinated with World Timer a year ago but just couldn't cope with "Beijing" instead of "Hong Kong". In the end I picked up a Ball Engineer Master II. It is such a fun watch. A bizarre Frankenstein watch that has everything piled on.

A bit too large. And given your demo, it's quite involved when you travel: you need to change the city disc to match AND then adjust the local time with the other crown. I find patek's solution with a pusher much more practical. Also I wish this one was more water resistant. Otherwise love the looks!

how does that stack up against the 5930g?

I have a soft spot for Chopard LUC. Great manufacturer producing great pieces.
