Israel has and will continue to assume it has the cover and support from United States will do whatever it wants. Netanyahu has proven due to the immense political lobbying via AIPAC that he has been the most powerful politician in the United States for the last 20 years. This needs to change now.

Israel’s fight is with Hamas, so why target civilian farms, bakeries and factories? A Spanish ship had to leave Cyprus with 200 tonnes of food while Gazans faced starvation. Insane times.

Can we stop having people like Friedman on? Just because he's criticizing Netanyahu here doesn't mean he isn't himself deeply racist and Islamophobic. He recently wrote this article comparing the Middle East to the animal kingdom that was incredibly offensive, and his whole career including his ardent support for the Iraq War are filled with examples of the worst type of war-mongering, defending the apartheid regime in Israel and vilifying Muslims.
