I must have forgotten after a few decades, but glad to have relearned the meaning of homogeneous.

I've been stuck for quite a while but after watching this, i'm very ready for ODE as a unit😊.

I think another good example of non-linear would be if you have a y multiplied by y’ or y’’ or something. Amazing video!

i loved diff eq bc you combined linear algebra and calculus.

You really got me out of the blue here. Last time I had math class, it was in university 10 years ago. Haven’t used equations since 😂 but after some seconds, I got back into it and it was like noticing you can still skateboard years later. Whobbly, but you can follow. Thanks for that.

Just started my summer online differential equations class so I’m glad I got this, hoping for more math videos here

This video popped up literally right when I needed it. Thank you!

I had DiffEQ concepts come up in my applied circuits class without taking DiffEQ because it wasnt a preriq 😭

Invaluable! ODE was so brutal hahahaha

Doesnt homogeneous mean that y=0 solve the equation? Nb ig the 'attached' idea would be iff y=0 solves equation probably 🤔

side note: a differential equation is linear if its solutions form a vector space!

what about something like y'-yx=0? Is that linear?

When saying that dfq that are homogeneous are usually linear does that mean they can be non linear too? And is there an example?

linearity was difficult to understand until I saw this, thanks.❤

Wait, are you saying sin(x) does not equal x?

Also worth mentioning is that "homogenous" has a second meaning for 1st order equations.

It can also be taken to mean an equation of the form
y' = F(y/x)

example
y' = (x² + y²) / 2x²
y' = ½ + ½(y/x)²

Pretending to understand this video makes me feel smarter.😂

Homogeneous second example is linear or not and why?

You skipped 2% and skim differential equations. Also, what is pasteurized?
