Let's talk about Hives!

Been dealing with hives for 5 weeks now. It was patchy in the beginning and almost went away after metrypredisone treatment. It came back as dot rash on the back and legs. Flare up spots seem to move around indicating it is hives but it hasn’t completely disappeared and flares up in afternoon and gets itchy. Desperate to get rid of it.

I used to take benadryl. But it doesn't work at all. I was better off taking allergy pills. But this actually made a huge difference. I carried on me all the time just. As soon as i feel it coming i have to take one or else it just gets worse. Just come out of nowhere. It used to take 3 days for my lip to get back to normal size.

I contracted Covid a year ago, and am certain it caused my hive outbreak which I never had in my life, I still have them and it’s getting worse, but I’m hopeful, for some reason.

If one antihistamine works on chronic hives for a few days and then stops working, can you use fexofenadine one day and cetirizine the next day or is it best to stick with one?  Does the antihistamine have to build up in your body or is it supposed to work immediately?

Are they itchy lmao curious I don’t get them on my skin but internally it’s so weird I’ve been to the allergists they tell me i hv chronic idiopathic urticaria and I’m so confused cus hives are on the skin and visible 🤨 but I get itchy for a good few days idk it’s weird can’t seem to get an accurate diagnosis 🤣
