The Truth About Hives

Reminder: Urticaria (or hives) is a very common condition.

We see them occur often in the setting of consuming certain foods, infections (viruses are the gift that keep on giving), stress, temperature changes, and medications. Hives are usually short-lasting, but when they are chronic (hanging out for more than a month), there could be an underlying issue, like an autoimmune condition, thyroid condition, or unresolved infection.

I currently have acute urticharia and the early spots of the hives which is my whole neck and face were so red and itchy, after an ice cold compress and applying hydrocortisone cream on them, they pretty much became clearer in less than 24 hours. Then of course, it spread even further down to literally the bottom half of my body, I think the cause is due to pressure from sleeping because my front is somewhat clear, changing poses and taking short naps in between made it manageable. Still suffering from itching but now it's manageable after 2-3 days, hopefully it goes away completely. The trigger could be the beef rendang I had because it could contain spices that i'm allergic to(i've never encountered food allergies). Hopefully everyone who is suffering from this recovers completely.
What I did:
-cold compresses
-cold room temp(HEAT=MORE HIVES)
-change poses while sleeping
-light and breathable clothing(although all the clothes I have irritate my skin so i just...don't wear any🤪).
