He knew Zac was going to try to jump over the wall (and his ult) so that hook is not just a hook on a stationary target. He knew what Maknoon was trying to do and aimed to stop it.

That play caught even MaKnoon by surprise. His face was just sheer shock and awe at the play madlife just pulled off

He waited for him to jump. He timed it all

Its those precious seconds, or even milliseconds, that separates a good player from a great player. The fact that he can execute those plays shows how good he can be.

i can watch this all day long.. amazing!

People got to stop focusing on the pull itself and saying 'it was easy', the reason this is an amazing play is because he collaborated all his abilities so well together and timed them perfectly.

This is quite literally the most mechanically skilled play i have seen, Madlife is a beast!

You're right, but since Zac would move in a straight line anyways, I think he had another 0.5 sec in which he could make that play anyway.

I had to press replay twice to make my eyes believe what they just saw.

I just watched that 4 times and still don't fully appreciate the amazing.

Played Thresh last game, went 3/1/11, he saw maknoon charging his jump and used his Q and waited to throw his W out. Props to kennen for clicking to straight away. It is a standard Thresh play.... If you play Thresh more than twice, you will do it often. Too many redditors going crazy over anything a 'pro' does.

And thats exactly what madlife did here. He played Thresh well, nothing more. Edward actually did a ton of blind hooks through terrain to set up kills against Fnatic. They stomped the game he was on thresh, it was nasty

Keep in mind, death sentence has a cast animation, which means he had to pre-cast the spell in order to catch zac as he jumped, which means he needed to perfectly anticipate the timing along with zac's jump speed.

I DARE you to try that.

I'm going to be honest, this is rather standard thresh play. It's just good mechanics but easy to break down. He had Zac in the bush already, so he slowed him with his e and got some aa's off. By then, Zac was preparing his e, so all you had to do was pop ult to slow him in case he tries to walk out (imo unnecessary) and throw q where zac was preparing his jump (where he's standing). The w was just common sense because he saw where kennen was(or just heard kennen say lantern over the headphones)

love how some people are just like "yeah, i can do this too, thats not impressive".
thats an example of why he got 80% in korea all star voting

I'd LOVE to see you even fucking TRY to do that.

I do it as janna all the time. When zac tries to jump away, there is an animation leaving you time to decide to stun or whatever you have.

It actually was, it was the best part of the play, if he hadn't hooked him the lantern wouldn't have resulted in an immediate kill. That hook was incredibly fast.
