I have a Cairn Terrier (hunting dog)who would act the same way. He goes nuts over any animal and immediately kills it, and was aggressive when I tried to take a bunny away from him. Simple answer; I just keep him away from all other animals and keep him on a leash or in our yard. I knew that he was a hunting dog when I got him and the female. He just turned 16, so no, I never shot him in the face!
