I have to say Marty you're awesome and the best tutor with no stone left unturned.  I have used you tutorials on five different occasions and enjoyed every minute. Thanks.

Thanks! I'm glad my tuts are helping you learn Photoshop. Many people request specific tutorials and most of them are great ideas, however, I don't know if and when I'll actually do them. I did do a couple of tuts showing how to create distressed text. One is a "Gotham City" sign on a stone wall and the other is medieval-looking text.

Great tutorial. I needed to create a sign for a French Polisher. Worked a treat. No problem with the speed - you can pause...
Thanks for taking the time to make it.

THANK YOU THANK YOU! So simple, very well put. It's ok you went fast. I just paused and went back again. Love the look. Thanks for your tutorial!!!

Marty, You have the best Photoshop tutorials on youtube, and that includes adobe TV! I am new to the program. I have been working it for about 8months. I have learned more from your videos, than any of the others. I have a request, is it possible for you to do a tutorial on how to create a distressed metal, sort of like a Mad Max style armor? I am looking to create this and wrap my corvette with it. Thanks Doug

Thanks blue lightning for the quick response. The option was there but greyed out. I corrected this by converting my image to 8 bits.

You might want to laugh.

I used a modified version of this to make a steak look more burned in a food shot.

Nice tutorial, thank you.

Like you pointed out, it is a early video, so a few things aren't really fleshed out ;)
Still I love how you reeeaally simple it down and explain every step. So many tutorials are just rushing things and assuming everyone knows PS like they do. So I really think you're doing a great job. Keep it up :)

1LGTX...Make sure the white layer is visible and active. Make sure you have the expanded selection of the text on the white layer. When you press Ctrl + Delete, the selection should fill with black.

very good tutorial! I little bit fast, but that's no problem since there's always the pause button :)
Very clear tut and result looks great. Tip to everyone: sizes should be adapted to the canvas size, since the result will be different when using these settings on much bigger or smaller size documents.

Excellent tutorial. You sound like a young David Duchovny.

Daniel Sr. Gutierrez...No, the selection should be deleted. We don't need it anymore once we fill the selection with black.
