Edgerunners is everything I want in an anime. Short and sweet, filled with story, things that matter, beautiful vibrant visuals, emotional and touching music. And a bittersweet ending that shows living in the present to its fullest is better than a safe happy ever after.

All Lucy wanted was for David to live. But in the end, the very least she could have was to remember how David lived, ironically enough. 10/10, fucking amazing show. Nothing bad comes to mind when I think of this.

Never been a big anime fan but I wanted to at least try this cause I love cyberpunk. So last night I went to watch at least the first episode expecting it not to grab my interest, welp I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Watched the whole series through and was in tears by the end.

This was PEAK storytelling, and I was not expecting it at all.

one of the most overlooked parts of lucy and david’s story is that lucy never really wanted to go to the moon she more so wanted to go anywhere but here with david halfway through the series david shows lucy that there are flights to the moon and she says “oh i don’t really care” nobody has pointed it out in any videos i’ve seen and i think it makes the ending even worse (sad) then it already was because she never really got her dream but more so a fake dream

Sounds like your basic chest thumping, power fantasy phrase if you take on its surface meaning. But in the context of Night City it's a perfect summation of the trap of despair that Lucy wanted to escape.
