Film Theory: What Level is Lucy in the Fallout Show?

In the new Fallout TV Show, Lucy appears to be a pretty powerful and capable hero. But, is she really? Just how powerful has Lucy become over the course of season 1 of Fallout. If we compare her story arc to the Fallout games like Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Fallout New Vegas, EXACTLY how powerful would she be in the show?

Even though it wouldn't make much of a difference in level, convincing Maximus to give the Power Core back is definitely a hard check. That suit could mean life or death for him. She essentially talked him into being able to die easier.

We could speculate on the perks Lucy has. So, in FO4, you can take idiot savant no matter what your Int is, and at level one you gain an additional 3x EXP from ANY ACTION. The higher your INT, the lower the chance it’ll happen. Lucy definitely has level one of idiot savant, because there are times in the show where she does something dumb/idiotic, which could be an indication of idiot savant popping off and providing 3x EXP.

There is a high probability that she could have gained enough EXP from idiot savant popping, to be another level higher, potentially 2 depending on when it pops. If it triggers as the result of finishing a quest, let’s say the super duper mart quest just to make things simple, that would mean she would’ve made 234 x3, or 702 EXP! I did my own little test and even at INT 10, idiot savant still popped quite often, just performing random actions.

I have a feeling that Lucy could be level 8 or 9 potentially closer to 10.

15:30 before you consider the time a problem also consider that time is dilated. Your 2 hours of playtime is equivalent to days of in game time passing. Load screens don't exist irl, among other things like deciding what to say to somebody for 30 seconds of real time (canonically and without dilation that's like 30+ minutes of you two just staring at each other)

That would be the minimum level she could be. When she walks through the wasteland she is not fast traveling; there are encounters on the way that they don't show. For example, in episode 5 she starts off with raider armor and is killing rad roaches with a high amount of weapon skill.

You could arguably give 1-2 raider kills for Lucy in the beginning. The one that was tranquilizer but fell off the balcony head first don’t believe he was ever seen again and we you mentioned the raider that she “married” her father finished him off but Lucy did the bulk of the damage.

There is a way past the Deathclaws at quarry junction. Hug the east wall and keep hugging it until you are within a hop skip and a jump from the research building with the dead brotherhood operatives. I used that to skip over the entire southern half of the map, ans used the caps from selling the brotherhood armor at the gun runners to fund a blackjack banning spree in all 4 casinos in New Vegas.

theres one major wrinkle in this calculation... leveling has actual effect on how much exp you gain.
there are perks and other bonuses from food and a bunch of other effects that can MAJORLY boost xp... chief among those is exactly what you said, her SPECIAL. And in fallout 4 you can increase your Special every single time you level up. So she could have a maxed out int by now, or even have some awesome perks that increase xp gain further. We dont know if the perks work the same as in the games, but leveling up would at least give her the chance of getting up to 40% MORE experience from perks and special increases. TBH i dont think this matters that much because she still does things that a low level character just SHOULD NOT be able to do. but its fine. Because its a show. Interesting theory, just wish it was more thorough in explaining why some bonuses were used but others were not

You're forgetting to account for "travel time dilation", for lack of a better term: in the game, it takes a lot less time to travel between real locations than it would if you made the same journey on foot IRL. I think it would still end up with Lucy being underleveled given the time she's taken, but not too badly.
