Waze or Google maps. Which is best?

They are both free and they are both good for live traffic updates but one slightly has the edge over the other for one main reason. #courier questions #truck questions #lorry questions.

I use waze and Google maps. Sometimes if I suspect traffic issues I put waze on but a lot of times I want to punch waze in the face because it routes me off to some crazy routes which I'm convinced takes longer than putting up with the traffic

I use the Tomtom professional 6200, you can put in your length, width and height of your vehicle also has ADR/Hazcheem options. The traffic and arrival times are excellent and speed cameras are spot on. Yes it is expensive but worth it in the long run. I have had mine 2 years and it has never let me down.

the benefit i find with google maps is when you enter a location you can actually see a picture of the location so you know what the location looks like be it a shop park whatever.

Hi Pete, I saw motorcycles was an option for loads on one of your vids on how to use the cx app, so it can be used for motorcycle couriers too? If so do you know the average rate per mile on motorcycles? Thanks.

Can you download an offline map on Waze just like Google Maps does?
Can Waze work offline?

Tom Tom professional, recently got a new van with CarPlay - run Waze alongside Tom Tom - Waze is good but not a patch on Tom Tom - plus if your phone signal is crap Waze does one

Personally for free apps I think you'd struggle to beat Waze, it does have its limitations but it does everything very well. I alternate between Google Maps and Waze most days, both have much the same functionality I find and updates are similar on both.

google maps all day long etc i stopped using sat navs many years ago in favour of google maps

phone still goes off on google when it gets warm which is interesting when on a motorway in an area you dont know as you cant swiitch phone back on while driving etc and traffic is virtually instant and road limit is on screen but i dont tend to look at screen i put volume of google maps just below radio volume and put phone in sun visor on velcro so prefer google maps on audio only

Right the CX is minimum wage if u are working for 70p a mile and doing dead miles you are running at a loss
If u get £1 a mile on lwb van u need a return job or the dead miles will make it less that 50p a mile
CX is now £1600 they wont refund you when you find out its a low paid job with lots of hours
The couriers want to sell jobs for peanuts and a few dickheads work for free and ruin it for good drivers that need a wage to pay bills and rent and food and pls dont convince you lot to part with over 20K
As thats what you will need to get started a van 15K insurance 3K CX is
1600 and 2K for fuel as you wait 60 days to get paid 😉
Get a job in burger king it pays better
