Sonic Adventure 1 (PC Modded): Amy Story Part 1: Twinkle Park
Показать описание
I'm now starting to go through the second half of this game's playable characters and their storylines, and this half is much more distant from the original Sonic-styled gameplay that you started with in this game.
Now we're gonna focus on Sonic's cute pink lover.
----------
Another day in Station Square, another boring day to shop for groceries...
A pink, 12-year old hedgehog girl named Amy Rose was quite bored with this lifestyle. Her life was more exciting when she was a damsel-in-distress, because back then, she could count on her hero Sonic the Hedgehog to rescue her. She still remembers the time that Sonic saved her from Metal Sonic on Little Planet.
She has fallen in love with the Blue Blur ever since, and now she wonders where he is...
The city was suddenly bathed in darkness, when a massive ship with Eggman's insignia flew by. Amy was wondering what he was up to, this time, but then a blue bird with a brooch crashes into.
Then from there, a large green robot started chasing after them. Amy was able to quickly hide away from it, though.
The little Birdie, a Flicky, must've been just escaped from Eggman's clutches, so Amy decided to keep the Birdie save from that robot.
----------
A unique quirk with Amy is that this Flicky will follow her around. However, this has no effect on the gameplay.
After traveling through more of Station Square (and seeing a certain flying rabbit cameo...), Amy and Birdie encounter a very familiar face: Sonic!
It's been a while since Amy last saw her blue crush, though Sonic himself wasn't trying to meet up with her like this. At first, Amy wanted Sonic to protect Birdie, but then she decided to have both of them tag along.
But Sonic wasn't feeling it from the hedgehog girl and ran away. The resulting chase had them eventually encounter that robot, again. When Sonic planned to attack it, Amy got distracted by a Twinkle Park special: "Cute couples can get in free."
She used that opportunity to venture through the park, expecting Sonic to (reluctantly) go after her.
----------
Amy's gameplay feels like a super toned-down take on Sonic's. Although she is a hedgehog, herself, Amy can't use any of the cool Spin moves that Sonic wields. Even her jump still leaves her vulnerable to contact damage. Her jump is so weak that she can't even jump out of Twinkle Park's pool from the bottom.
She's also the slowest character in the game, and this is compensated by having her version of certain levels feel more compact.
But Amy is not completely helpless. She instead wields her Piko Piko Hammer. Mind your distance between her and her enemies so that you can timely hit them with her hammer when you're close. When you've reached Amy's... "top speed", when she pulls out her hammer while running, you can also do a Hammer Jump, which is much higher than her regular jump.
To complete Amy's levels, you have to find a huge balloon that can fly her out of the level to safety, as she is being harassed and chased by a huge green robot called E-100 Zero.
You can attack Zero to knock him back, but all this will really do is stun him. He wants to attack and capture Amy, and eventually after a few more hits, he becomes invincible for the remainder of the segment he's chasing you through.
----------
Amy's "Act 1" of Twinkle Park involves finding switching around the pool area to open a door. "Act 2" takes place inside that door, a haunted mirror house full of spiked balls and trapdoors. Use the mirrors' reflections to figure out where the trapdoors are.
The "Act 3" of Amy's Twinkle Park feels more like her "Act 3". Continue all the way through to find that balloon.
----------
Amy seemingly managed to lose that Zero robot in Twinkle Park, but it looks like that Sonic went missing, too...
Unfortunately, Zero caught up with Amy and grabbed her and Birdie. Sonic could only watch from a distance as his pink friend and her own bird friend were taken away...
