Amusement parks and theme parks are one of the last places where you can really let loose and embrace your inner child. But sadly, not all of these parks make it and many of them have to close their doors forever. But that doesn't mean they go away. So while many of these rides will never be ridden again, they are left to rust and decay. So join us for today’s video, where we countdown the top 15 largest abandoned amusement parks.

There was an abandoned park near me called LibertyLand in Memphis Tennessee, it closed in 2005 and sat abandoned for a few years along with Elvis Presleys favorite roller coaster The Zippin Pippin, the Zippin Pippin was the first roller coaster I ever rode so I’m glade a park in Green Bay Wisconsin bought it and it’s still in operation.

Pripyat park is related to call of duty 4 modern warfare remember the flashback when price and cpt. Macmillan is going to kill zhakhiev but only shot arm, there is an amusement park in ukrain and same as the mission where price and cpt. Macmillan suppose to assasinate zhakhiev it was a stealth mission and there was an abandoned amusement park in that mission. I love it when it is related to a videogame. Keep up the good work👍🏻

This was a really cool video. Urban explorers would love all of these places. And thanks for showing the before videos. It gives a much better visual as to how these places once looked. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next one :o)

Geauga Lake shouldn’t be on this list as it’s description here is inaccurate and it was never abandoned. Cedar Fair bought it with the goal of shutting it down as it was their main parks main competition which was only a two hour drive from this park and NOT due to lack of business. They then moved all the dry rides to their other parks and just left the water park open. It’s currently a construction site so anyone looking to find an abandoned amusement park like this is saying will be very disappointed as well as all those rides are still up and functioning with their generic names just fine at the parks they were moved to.

👈 I went to Six Flags New Orleans with my parents when I was younger- like 4 years old. I remember this "evil carnival" ride that was pretty dope- and I remember my older sister and I would constantly want to ride the 4D spongebob ride. I remember Katrina taking place when I was 5-6 years old

I went to Disney River County as a kid. We had so much fun sad to see it gone. I was maybe 9 or 10 when I went.

River Country is no more. It has all been torn down, filled in. The foundations for the hotel that was going to be built, was laid. Those foundations now lay abandoned as the hotel has halted and most likely cancelled.

They filmed a few scenes from the Jurassic Park movie at the six flags in New Orleans.

Geauga lake closed due to many reasons
1. When six flags bought sea world it made many people upset
2. With the seaworld land it made it to big with over 700 acres of land
3. Six flags expanded too quickly and no infrastructure improvements
4. By time cedar fair bought it the attendance for the park was already at it lowest in decades
5. In it's final season open on of the rides derailed which most likely told them to look closer in the rides and they didn't like what they saw

My question is why you used the thumbnail of the Seaside Heights, New Jersey Ferris wheel (hit by Hurricane Sandy) if you weren't putting the park in the video. My mother saw the shot and wanted to hear about "her" amusement park (Dad used to climb the wooden Ferris wheel to change the light bulbs when he was a teenager working at the park in the 1960s). But it turns out the picture was click bait. Please do better.
