Did you do any night time driving? How are the LED headlights?

The fuel consumption of 4.9 L/100km, and possibly less if staying on 100km/hr, is excellent (which is actually about the same as the ADR of 4.7 L/100km for Extra Urban). Thereby a long distance trip of over 900kms is possible on a tank full (something which cannot be said of any EVs on the market). One can go on a long trip without the frustrations that an EV brings. The front of the update looks much better than the previous model. Saw the base N-Line model last week, and wow, for being base it looks impressive. Great to see that Hyundai is still providing sedans to our market. Having a full sized spare is fantastic.

I've had my pre update N line sedan down to 5.2L/100 on the highway. 40, 000km on it now and I average around 6.5L/100 with the 1.6 turbo.

I drove the i30 hatchback as a rental car as I was visiting Tasmania last year and I found it a great car to drive. I think I prefer it over the Corolla. That’s just my opinion.

I currently own 2020 Kia Rio and I’m actually looking forward to seeing Kia K4 on Australian roads as I’m looking to buy one of those. I am sadly one of the last few people with reasonable sense when it comes to ignoring unecessarily oversized SUVs that don’t offer that much space compared to traditional sedans in terms of cabin comfort or luggage space in the boot.

Love this thing - looks great and who can argue with those economy figures from a non-hybrid unit

2:29 thanks for the review! Thinking of buying either this car or the hybrid version, biggest thing putting me off is the speed limit beeps and bongs, I didn’t know it could be turned off from the steering wheel so that makes it a little less painful ! Hopefully Hyundai can do a software update to change this.. just the visual warning would be good.

Will you be doing a review on the hybrid version?

Great review. I have i30 hatchback bought in 2016, love it. About time to upgrade and your review just made my plans easier😊😊😊

Hyundai definitely make some good things these days. Is nice for it's price.

And if it's like most Hyundais the fuel consumption will get better with a few ks on it. It was very fresh when you got it.

will Hyundai update their software to keep the speed assistance off permanently? That's a really annoying feature.

Looks great! Is it possible to see a video of a facelift i30 sedan n line in the future?

Great review! Bought one recently, I agree with the annoying speed warning sounds, hopefully Hyundai pushes an update for that.

I’ve also noticed a harsh vibration/ resonance sound from the gearbox under acceleration at around 3600-4200 rpm. Was it noticeable to you as well?

Hmmm the i30 hatchback seems like a faster car? 120kw/203nm and gets 0-100 in a hair over 8 seconds? The new i30 sedan gets 110kw/180nm? They went backwards?

I’m assuming that the i30 sedan with the hybrid engine will be available
with the 6 speed DCT just like the Kona hybrid, which in that case
makes for a compelling choice over the Kona.

How's the road noise on concrete and coarse bitumen?

pity it was'nt a liftback....but at 29k before haggling it's ideal for day to day running around and commuting.

The economy is crazy low for a 2L engine!
