Swords: expensive and lots of training required
Axe:inexpensive and straightforward
SPEAR: super cheap, deadly in anyone’s hands

An axe is a weapon and a tool. Most ordinary vikings were farmers and raiders in season. Every farm had axes. Swords were very expensive. Rich vikings had them, full time warriors attached to the great jarls had them. You could inherit one or you could take one from a body. The elaborate axes shown in the illustration are not what most Vikings raided with. You want one that slips in your belt. The ones shown here are very high status and in some cases a bit improbable.. Bearded axes are designed so you can hook the beards over your opponents shield and pull it towards you thus exposing your enemies flank and then you can finish him off with your sword or scramseax. At the back of the axe they often have a flattened section so it can be used as a hammer. An all purpose piece of kit you can fight, build and repair with.

Just how many of those "Viking" watches existed? To find one would be a huge archeological find. I would have never guessed that the Vikings were so advanced to make such a beautiful watch.

In Proto-Indo-European, there is one word which means the primary weapon. Depending on which descendant of PIE one looks at, it means either an axe or a sword, but not both. Obviously, the ax switched roles fairly frequently, especially in the late Stone Age.

Vikings use axes for building farming and they occasionally used them to throw it at a enemy when they tried to run axes where definitely used but not like what they say they would use anything that could cause damage

They knew that free men need to bear arms. It's not less tue today. Axes can penetrate body armor and take down mounted soldiers. Compare the hillebard. We can guess that every soldiers was expert on his special weapons, but trained att them all. So cavellry was met by ax-men and spear men, as examples.

Thor turned lesser class into freemen by making them equal to masters they ended slavery which irritates cruel kings. Thor was leader of the Northmen that are the sacred personal tribe of Thor from Thor's sacred realm known as the Northland's and Thor's personal tribe were lesser class peasant workmen that Thor turned into rebellious freemen that were very envied seeming they were workers many were sent to blindly to die as Anzac Aussies for the Monarchy of Britain because the Northmen rebelled and dethroned the British Monarchy whose first crusade was ended by the Northmen who were meant to be sent to die in that first crusade and were sent to die in every other Crusade as puppets or slaves that would be that worker sent to an early grave as the Anzac.
