How Darth Vader’s Fighting Style Became More Powerful Than Anakin Skywalker’s #Shorts

Anakin Skywalker was one of the most talented lightsaber duelists in the Jedi Order, but Darth Vader was even better.

Anakin became the Hero of the Republic during the Clone Wars because, unlike other Jedi, he enjoyed fighting. He chose the offensive lightsaber form of Djem So and fueled attacks with his natural power and aggression. Vader had to adapt his fighting style. Keeping Djem So as the foundation, he was now free to use his anger in ways the Jedi Order had forbidden. But he was at a serious disadvantage, as his suit severely limited his range of motion.

The Sith Lord merged two other fighting styles with Djem So - Soresu, a more defensive form that allowed him to protect the chestplate that now operated his life support systems, and Makashi, which specialized in fencing and blade-to-blade combat. This unique hybrid fighting style gave Vader an advantage over the Jedi who survived Order 66.

Imagine if Palpatine had went all out on Vader's suit instead of limiting him. He would have been what Grevious failed to become

Post suit Vader was more *powerful* but less skillful due to his lack of agility. Also couldn’t use force lightning cuz it would fuck with his suit.

Pre suit Vader was definitely stronger in terms of raw power, though. He was just still very young and impatient so he got Mou Kei’d

Also, suresu is obi wans preferred style and Makashi is Dooku’s preferred form, definitely interesting. But I also rarely see Vader actually use makashi I feel like.

I know these two forms would make sense to adopt to begin with. But it’s a bit ironic he adopted the forms of the two people that wounded him the most in lightsaber combat. Makashi form II is Dooku’s specialty, while Soresu form III is Obi-Wan’s.

Form V is really my favorite one. Specially because you can create so much powerful variations by adding others forms into it like Vader did. For me, I'd add Soresu but also Ataru. Not for the acrobatic thing but more for the agility it gives and to enhance even more my physical abilities to evade or just be faster. Because average-low speed and low mobility are the greatest weaknesses of Form V. And above that, using Sokan's tactics are fundamental to me and of course using the Force powers during a fight.

Forgot to take into account the loss of both arms and both legs which severely lowered his midi-chlorian count which also made him much weaker in the force as nearly half of his body was gone.

imagine putting your life support outside of any protective armour, and right at the centre of your body. also imagine wearing a whole robot suit instead of trying to medically get healed.

I’ve also come to this conclusion as well, if you just go back and watch the clone wars there are several instances where Anakin giving into the dark side would have resulted in the mission being salvaged, the zigerain slave fight for example, Vader has the freedom not only to do and use the force in whatever way he wants, but he could also take an extremely large amount of punishment without care or consequence. This resulting in the vader we see taking on entire armies on the comics single handedly.
